it is our intent that the PowerBi can be used as a real time visualization tool for many use cases including: Analytics on Compressor Efficiency Real time monitoring off Natural Gas Consumption in our methanol unit Work Order Wrench Time Optimization Shift Schedule and OT optimization The problem with PowerBi connector is that it currently treats CDF as a data source and then imports data on a scheduled basis. There is no federated connection available where data is not imported or duplicated. Microsoft has confirmed this issue lies with Cognite and not on their side. The current Powerbi connector forces an import and does data duplication in the Powerbi space. This method has two names, some call it Import Data, and some call it Scheduled Refresh. Both names explain the behavior of this method. With this method data from the source will be loaded into Power BI. Loading in Power BI means consuming memory and disk space. CDF should allow tag aliasing so that we can have two different tags that are not exact matches still refer to the same entity in the data model Example from Adam G As we ingest more data sources, we’re running into issues where the same asset is now represented in multiple data systems – here’s an example: The same physical asset, let’s call it FV12345, would be represented in SAP as a maintenance asset, but also within the SIS system as a safety valve creating time series data. The SIS system is unique in the sense that it includes a mixture of tag names that may already exist and new ones. Is there a way for CDF to accomplish aliasing? Ideally CDF can meet two cases:Searching for FV12345 only yields one result that represents both systems No tag names are missing (FV12345 represents both the SAP tag name as well as the SIS tag name), i.e. a search for all SAP tags yields FV12345, as does a search for all SIS tags
This is an important functionality to allow searching OSI PI Tags by Assets and then also searching by asset hierarchy levels and rolling up all time series tag or going down a level to get all the time series tag
We need the ability to write back Basic Finish dates to SAP from Maintain
It is very difficult to search files in Cognite if you dont know the file name. For example, i wanted to search electrical classification drawing for a methanol unit in CDF. it was practically impossible to find it in CDF. Instead, I had to go to the source system → to find the unit methanol and then find the electical classification drawing under electrical drawing folder. There is no way in CDF to search by document classes and/or filter by unit to narrow the search in a few clicks. Also there is no way to isolate fuzzy searches so that i dont get random stuff.
Its extremely important for us to standardize Time Series data fields for Classical Data Model. Currently, the ssytem does not allow flexible modification.

Can Cognite SUpport ground AGV to transport containers from one place to another?
I would like the ability to search a Time Series Tag and find documents that are contextualized to the time series in Infield. This is not possible today. I can only do this Asset Centric way.
I find it very strange that we do not have the ability to have Hotspotted documents in Infield.
If we are using Robot to do checklists such as read gauges, it would make sense that data can be used to populate the Infield checklist in Cognite Infield. These two need to be integrated. Can we create a checklist and tasks in Infield, and then use a robot to complete it?
This is fundamental that when i am searching a tag in Infield e.g. HE1300 or V32401, i should be able to get all my time series data associated to that tag in the Infield view. Currently, only direct links are shown in the infield app, so if i really want to search a time series, i actually have to query the instrument tag itself. That is not value adding and defeats the contextualization and relationship achieved in CDF. This is really important to get fixed.
Can we get the ability to do document types visualized in Remote so its easier to navigate?
We need the ability to create check lists by Equipment Type in a generic way. For example, these are the checks for an overspeed trip on a compressor? The current checklists has an asset is assigned on a task level which only make sense If you are doing an operator round and moving from an equipment to another equipment in a round. We need the ability to have a checklist against one asset that has checks for that asset. Examples 1) Functional Test for a Pump 2) Overspeed Trip Test 3) Overhaul of a Compressor etc We would like those generic check lists to be then pulled by technician, completed, tied to the WO and the Asset it was completed for in the WO. It would be nice if some AI looks at the Work order, then tells the technican which checklist to use. Nice to HaveAbility to create checklists that are visual in nature or has infographics that you can put measurements around a bearing picture for example instead a routine scrolling checklists. Ability to have pictures on a task level
Cognite Team - this is quite needed to support classical and FDM data in CDF. Why do we not have a PowerBI connector that allows direct query and can be live streaming data.
We need the ability to create an HMI or Industry Canvas to have our DCS Graphics and SCADA Graphics imported in CDF and we can then place latest time series values on the graphics so that we have a very visual way to monitor our assets.
We need the ability to do Visual Queries in 3D ModelsHighlight Safety Critical Equipment Highlight Work Orders or Permits on a 3D Model Highlight Equipments exceeding a Set Point We need the ability to do these use cases in a visual query in 3D.
Cognite RevealWe are being told that our models need to be downsampled which is resulting in better performance in CDF but poor quality on the viewer. We have consistently noticed that we are unable to have one large point cloud together in the viewer and also the viewing quality is very poor compared to what laser scanning vendor solutions show. I need some attention on this from Product?Why should we downsample and decrease the density of the Point Cloud? does not appear to be the right thing to doWhy should we chop up the 3D model in pieces?

Cognite Remote uses Metric Ssytem with measurements especially when you use a ruler, is always in meters, we need Ft and Inches please.
It would be great if Cognite Reveal can have blue sky and landscape options os the 3D model does not look hanging in a black background.
Need to have an ‘Upsert API’ for Rest interfaces in Cognite, in similar lines as Cognite Java SDK ‘Upsert’. This is to minimize the load and code complexity, particularly in (SAP PO/PI scheduled/real-time) On a high level there are two types of Rest interfaces which are coming from SAP to CDF Assets Functional Location, Equipment Events Notifications, Work order In case of Events, there are two major concerns As Cognite doesn’t have an Upsert API – we need to check every time whether the record exists from PI/PO, and then call create/ update API based on the response. This is doubling the calls from PI PO side. In the event API, as per the documentation available (https://docs.cognite.com/api/v1/#tag/Events/operation/createEvents) the request body schema for assetIds, originating from PI/PO expects internal ID of Cognite. SAP won’t have the Cognite internal id of the equipment (to create/update work order details) The event API doesn’t even have event id to link
Its very sad to see that Point Cloud visualization is quite bad in Cognite Reveal in CDF. Can we fix this?
