Cognite InField: Ability to view Time Series Data Against Direct Links and Relationships

Related products: InField Contextualization

This is fundamental that when i am searching a tag in Infield e.g. HE1300 or V32401, i should be able to get all my time series data associated to that tag in the Infield view. Currently, only direct links are shown in the infield app, so if i really want to search a time series, i actually have to query the instrument tag itself. That is not value adding and defeats the contextualization and relationship achieved in CDF. This is really important to get fixed.

Hi @ibrahim.alsyed. Thanks again for the great feedback! I’ve created a ticket in our internal backlog and will evaluate with the InField if this is something we can handled in the near future. If so, I might reach out to you with some following questions for clarification.

Thanks again,

Nicklas

@ibrahim.alsyed Today in InField, if you search for a tag, and navigate to the associated Trends page, you’ll see a section on the left-hand side with the name “Other time series on this tag” – is the functionality you’re requesting something separate from this? 😊

Nicklas,  i would like you to show me. I am not thinking we are talking the same thing.

Hello again, Ibrahim. I’ve been digging into this functionality a bit this week, and if I’m understanding your feedback correctly, we are working on being able to show the all my time series data associated to a tag.

Perhaps @Cathrine Horn Stenstadvold can shed some more light on this.

Its the ability to see all the time series data to a tag. Its not meaningful to search an instrument and then view the time series, but what is valuable is to seach for a vessel and column or compressor and have the time series data associated to it.

@ibrahim.alsyed Makes total sense! We’ve been discussing that functionality for some time, and I’ll push for it to get higher priority. Will keep you updated.

Team - can i expect this functionality in Q4? This is going to be an issue if we dont solve it.

@Nicklas Lind @Kristoffer Knudsen

@ibrahim.alsyed Yes, you can expect this during Q4 👍 Currently investigating how to solve it optimally

its really just leveraging the full data model from CDF :P
