Eric - great presentation, sorry I missed it but glad you recorded it. Interested in the upcoming rollouts. I’m definitely interested in the the upcoming updates, in particular the ability to set thresholds (4) and the ability to push calculations from charts directly into Grafana (although for myself I’d be more interested in that functionality being pushed to Power BI).
What is the timeline for being able to add annotations to charts? Is there any plan to setup charts groups and charts dashboards?

As mentioned in the recording, thresholds on historical data is something we’re currently working on implementing into the frontend. As of now, I expect we will be released to production for all of you to use in early March.

For pushing calculations from Charts to 3rd party visualization tools, e.g. Grafana, this is also a work in progress although we’re less certain about when this will be available. As a rough estimate, I’d anticipate this being available within the next 2-3 months. Our designers also be reaching out to our early adopter community for feedback and input on the user experience of this feature very soon!
While we’re prioritizing Grafana first, the foundational technology is the same for pushing to all 3rd party visualization tools. So this means PowerBI will either work out-of-the-box when we release this feature (TBD) or it will be relatively low effort to add this functionality after the initial release.

When it comes to annotations, as of now, this is not something we will be focusing on until H2 2022. We will adding support for displaying events in Charts in H1 2022, since both the UX research and technical functionalities will both serve as the foundation for this annotations feature.

For “charts groups,” (based on what I remember from our conversations last year) we are working on this functionality together with another product team. I can’t speak to timeline yet, but as soon as we have more concrete information to share with you all, I’ll post here in Cognite Hub.

Finally, for “charts dashboards” (e.g. multiple charts in one view, displayed stacked on top of one another and/or side-by-side), this is an area we’ll be working on in the future (beginning H2 2022), but not for the time being. This is also why we’ve prioritized the Charts -> Grafana, PowerBI, ++ feature so anyone has the ability to leverage any work done in Charts within their dashboarding tool-of-choice.
