In Charts, when choosing a core data model as your source, Events are disabled preventing the choosing of core model “CogniteActivity” as “events” to overlay timeseries data from CogniteTimeSeries.

Is this functionality on the roadmap and if so, when can we expect?

Hi @Chris Selph

I may be missing something here. Could you please elaborate on the scenario you’re referring to and, if possible, share a screenshot?

When using the Core Data Model in Charts, Activities can be overlaid via the Activities toggle under the Layers button in the top navigation. Once enabled, you can overlay Activities on top of your time series and add the relevant Activities through the “Add data” button.

@danielferraz I’m not seeing the “layers” button you refer to. Can you explain exactly where it is?

Also note since we are using a white labeled CDF (Rockwell’s DataMosaix), there may be functions we do not have access to yet. I attached a screenshot so you can see the buttons available.

Thanks

@Chris Selph thanks for the additional context and for sharing the screenshot.

Activities is a new feature in Charts that will replace the existing Events overlay currently available today. Activities represent time bounded operational action, such as maintenance work, work orders, and inspections, and are built on the Core Data Model.

The feature is currently in Beta and is planned to become generally available in Q1. Once available, Activities will be accessible in Core Data Model backed projects, which may explain why you are not seeing the Activities layer in your current setup.
