When creating calculations, the four basic arithmetic operations are some of the most frequently used features. However, in the current Charts experience, creating even slightly complex expressions requires configuring a large number of Functions.
For example, the Add Function can only add two time series at a time, so even for a simple expression like A + B + C + D + E, you need to place four separate Add Functions.
Could this process be made simpler so that basic arithmetic can be built more easily?
Ideally, it would be great if users could enter an expression directly on the “Create calculation” screen—for example:
A + (B - C) / (B + C) * 100 + D × E
and Charts would automatically generate the necessary Functions.
If the expression format followed something similar to Excel, most users would find it intuitive and easy to use.

Hi @Shun Takase

We are currently conducting discovery work to improve the calculations UI in Charts. We hope to implement some improvements in Q4 / early next year (“excel like” functionality), however we are focused on other priorities at the moment...

Out of interest: would leveraging Atlas AI to create calculations via natural language be of interest to you? We currently have this feature in beta, and would love your feedback if interested!

Hi , @danielferraz

Thank you for your reply.

We are very much looking forward to the improvements to the Charts UI.
Previously, we had the opportunity to watch a video demonstration of creating calculations in Charts using Atlas AI, shared with us through  @Kazuyo Yoshida  from your team.

If calculations can be created via Atlas AI, it would significantly reduce the manual effort required for users to search for and place a large number of calculation tags.
In addition, it could help users appropriately utilize calculation features that they might not have been aware of before, which makes this capability particularly interesting to us.
