What are the licensing terms and conditions for using Cognite's Open Industrial Data? Could you please provide a link to these terms and conditions?

Thank you.

@Stig Harald Gustavsen @Anita Hæhre - Would either of you be able to help with this? Thanks.

@Cameron Duffy good question, but a reasonable Creative Commons should do fine I would think. it is in the public domain, but @Anita Hæhre could maybe speak internally in Cognite :)

@Stig Harald Gustavsen @Cameron Duffy

I’m on it and doing my best to get you an answer! It might take me some time, but I will get back to you as soon as I have something.

@Cameron Duffy did you have a particular type of use in mind?

Best regards,

Sofie

Hi again @Cameron Duffy

Apologies for the delay. For the t&c's, please refer to https://www.cognite.com/en/legal/hub-and-academy-terms-and-conditions. Hope that helps, let us know if any other questions

Best regards,

Sofie

Hello @Sofie Haug and @Stig Harald Gustavsen ,

I had the same question and I am quite confused because here it said: “The Open Industrial Data (OID) project gives you free access to a live stream of industrial data that you can explore for your own purposes”. So it seems to be a Creative Commons license or something like that and I could find some master thesis on the subject on the internet.

But in the terms of Cognite Hub and Academy it is about a limited license “for non-commercial use within your organization in support of Cognite’s products. No other use of the information is authorized. … Users are not permitted to modify, distribute, publish, transmit, or create derivative works of any material found on Cognite Hub or Cognite Academy for any public or commercial purposes.”

So if the goal is to find a nice complex industrial system for a PhD thesis and not especially to learn how to use your products it is not OK ? Will it be OK to use the data and publish the results obtained in a scientific paper ?

Thank you in advance for your answer,

@Noemie Vlaminck this is a good question and I will see if I can find the answer. @Geir Engdahl  are you aware of anything to the question above?
