Add tenant and project to Extraction pipeline alerts

Hi @Øystein Aspøy, thanks for the feedback! Attempting to break it down to clarify and ask follow-up questions: 

1. Get more metadata in the email alerts. We could consider adding:  
   1. The CDF project of the extraction pipeline that generated the alert.
   2. Other extraction pipeline metadata. Here (under “Responses”) you can see a list of all the metadata that will be available for a particular extraction pipeline. From this list, is there anything in particular that you would like to see as part of the email notification? 
2. Edit the information sent by email. Would this be covered if the email notifications by default contain more metadata about the extraction pipeline? You could then e.g. edit the custom metadata fields, and that information would be included in the email.
3. Automation on alerts. Could you elaborate on this a bit? Are you looking to integrate alerts with an external system? I assume this would be separate from email alerts?

I’m working with Øystein on this, and will try to answer.

Would be nice with something indicating the project in clear text. If you look at notifications sent on transformation, it has the following format: “Transformation <Transformation_Name> in project <project> has failed with the following error:” Having a similar indication of project in the extraction pipeline mail will help with identifying the environment much faster. 

In regards to the other points, having the project will cover our needs for this, but would be nice in the long term if metadata is included in the mail as an easy way to add custom information to the mail notification.

Just checking in—do you have any updates on when this feature will be published?

Hi, we’re planning to implement a new notificaftions service in Q4, and integrate extraction pipelines, data workflows, etc. to this new service in Q1. So it will be an improvement not only covering the above, but a more significant upgrade to the notification/alerting experience in CDF. Details TBD.
