Welcome to the CDF Fundamentals Discussion!
This discussion is dedicated to help learners of the Cognite Data Fusion Fundamentals learning path succeed. If you’re struggling with the exercises in this learning path, try the tips & tricks below or post a comment with the challenge you’re facing. You can also post your own tips and respond to fellow learners’ questions. Cognite Academy’s instructors are also here to help.
Thanks for sharing these great tips,
@BBB! Refreshing the page or trying again indeed usually does the trick.
Previewing the transformation is a best practice we strongly recommend. However, as you’re saying: if there’s a network issue, don’t worry. You can skip the preview step and continue with the course.
Good luck with the rest of the path and the assessment!
I’m having issue following the “Contextualize using entity matcher” lesson within the “Working With CDF: Contextualize”. My datasets aren’t appearing.
I tried to restart and refresh.
I’ve closed and reopened.
For some reason, I can find my dataset in any of the tools I’ve used (Explore, Transform, Create, etc.) EXCEPT entity matching…
Can someone help?
Thank you for reaching out regarding the issue! I will investigate it and get back to you as soon as possible.
I am not able to see your transformations nor your datasets. Can you please check from your end if you can see them, and provide a screenshot if possible?
I’m a little embarrassed to say this, but I ended up using the SQL entity matching for the course in order to continue to the assessment. But as I was wrapping up the course, I got to the clean up stage, and forgot that I had posted this issue.
I can try it once more and provide a screenshot of the issue I am receiving.
Should just take a moment
No worries at all! We are happy that you could proceed with the SQL option and congratulations on your completion.
Yes, please let us know if you experience the issue again whenever you have time to try it out.
I think there might have been something with the first Data Set, because this one can be found.
I’m not sure what the initial issue was, but I guess a tip to anyone is if your dataset isn’t found the first time, try recreating it. That’s what worked for me.
Thanks again for your assistance Madina.
I am facing a issue with Entity Matcher module, I have my datasets created but not able to search them in the screenshot below. I was able to see one of them, I refreshed to see another but then both of them disappeared .
I had the same issue as well! I’m not sure why, but it just eventually worked when I recreated my datasets again from scratch. At the time, I ended up deleting everything and rebuilding it all from scratch, but it eventually worked for me.
I know it’s not the best answer, but try rebuilding/creating new datasets…
Hopefully Madina might be able to tackle the issue when she can.
Note: Don’t delete the ones you’ve made now so Madina can see why it’s not working as expecgted
@Deepali Gupta, @Mahmoud Shihab, thank you very much for the help!
I am sorry that you are experiencing this issue. Please don't delete your Deepali1996-IFSDB yet, in the meanwhile, you can create & build another dataset (with a different name). I will try to investigate the issue and get back to you as soon as possible.
Ok Thank you so much
@Madina Kholmatova and @Mahmoud Shihab
@Deepali Gupta, @Mahmoud Shihab,
This is not a bug. Unless you have a related resource type(timeseries, sequence, files, events) tagged to a data set it wont be displayed in this particular screen. If you are tying to select a file then the particular file should have the data set mapped.
I hope that helps.
I have an error saving credentials in the Data Fusion as below
How can i resolve this
@Ikechi Vera Maduako,
I see from the screenshot provided, the client ID is incorrect. Can you please try with the correct client ID?
Ive corrected the Client ID, i run the transformation but i still have an error
Preview is good
Run shows error
@Ikechi Vera Maduako,
There was missing a colon (:) in your query. I just fixed, and run your transformation successfully.
Good morning everyone,
I am not sure if this it the right place to ask this, but I am currently unable to download the “CHANGE_NAME.pdf” file in the “Working With CDF: Contextualize” section of “Cognite Data Fusion Fundamentals” course. Has anybody experience the same issue before? I am getting an “access denied” error :(
Please let me know if can get any help here! :)
Please can you post what is the error you are getting on your system and also add the snap short of your browser console and that will help us to the cause more in details.
I am running a CDF learn project and I got stuck with generating client secret, I can’t find any such button on my project homepage.
I appreciate any help
@Victor Alozie , if you are working through the CDF Fundamentals learning path, you’ll find the instructions to generate a client secret for the related CDF project in the Generate a client secret lesson in the Working With CDF: Integrate course. Please let me know if the instructions work for you. Good luck with the path and gaining your certificate!
Enikö from Cognite Academy
I could not find the Navigate to Schedule and Run and click the Transform to contextualize my events under Link events to assets
@Gali Venkata Rao,
Thank you for reporting this issue! There have been changes in the UI change, and the instructions were not up-to-date on that regard. You can go ahead, and run your transformation as you did in the previous course.
Please let us know if there is similar issues!
Hi, I get the following error message when trying to access the create interactive engineering diagrams function, what has gone wrong.
