Hi everyone,

We appreciate so many of you taking the time to provide us feedback, and due to popular demand, we accelerated the implementation of a new way of seeing preview of data in Search.

What you now see in Search, is that we (most places*) have replaced the preview card pop up triggered by hovering with a preview side panel triggered by selecting/clicking on an item. The preview side panel is a compressed version of the details view, and you will be directed to the full page details view by selecting “Open” in the top right.

Left: preview card pop up previously triggered on hover. Right: preview side panel triggers on click.

*We still use the preview card when viewing Annotations in a File, but are here working on designs for improving the interaction.

Let us know what you think!
Best,

Sofie Berge, Product Manager

Hi @Sofie Svartdal Berge
Better experience.

One feedback, when on the side panel. if a user clicks on Tree view tab and immediately tries to switch to say “Properties” tab, it is slow. Looks like unless everything is rendered in the tree view, it slows down the interaction.

May not be a problem if the tree view is small but for a longer tree view, it kind of hangs the panel for a while.

Thank you for the feedback @Aditya Kotiyal!

It is a good point, our current implementation does not terminate the initiated query to fetch the Tree if the user interacts/navigates to a different tab. We will look into if we can change the behaviour and not require to complete the fetching of the Three view even if navigating to a new tab before the Tree is fully fetched.

Best,
Sofie
