Being able to share personal charts using a link to specific email addresses or just by sharing the link to the chart (like we had done with checklists in Infield) would be beneficial.
@Anita Hæhre Can you please tag Celanese to this item, Thanks
If there is a data gap in a time window, the end user should be able to configure whether to interpolate the data or have the data as is, coming from the timeseries data source. This is of importance during root cause analysis, in scenarios such as a faulty transmitter leading to subsequent/major events.
It would be helpful to have the ability to organize them into folders or like how we organize monitoring jobs.
Infield team, this is a key request. This segregation of approvers in different departments segregated and approvers only able to see the checklists of their group is a necessity for adoption.
Having the number of inputs configurable is something many end users are used to and will greatly benefit user experience and product adoption. While we are looking into this functionality, lets look at any other logical/mathematical function blocks where it would be of benefit as well.
@Anita Hæhre , Based on Kristoffer’s comments above, can the status be considered and updated as Planned for development? Thanks
@Knut Vidvei , We have also seen this issue with Charts, once in a while.
Auto update is definitely a feature that many of us are used to in other products and will benefit adoption of Cognite charts.
@Josh Menk @Jonathan Anoc Please let us know when we are ready to do ingest a couple of sample graphics and the formats you recommend importing into CDF.
This feature is something that many end users are accustomed to in other tools and would definitely bring value to the broader charts usage community. Looking forward to its implementation.
Being able to track and report alarm KPI’s, as described in ISA 18.2 would be of benefit. Having a call would be great.
@Knut Vidvei Any update on this setup of default columns for CE projects, based on the information provided in Feb 2023? Thanks
Tagging @Hunter Beck on this. Hunter, this is a use case of CDF that is of benefit to a number of process/manufacturing industries. Developing standards and best practices of mapping the alarms and other events generated by different automation systems, into upcoming FDM properly, will be of great benefit to number of us in the industry.
@Thomas Sjølshagen Thank you for your response on this item. This has been evaluated further on our end and the requested functionality is considered critical requirement (and a significant blocker) for our multi-site scaleup. Please let us know what does it take from us to make the “Must Have’s” described in this item, a critical priority on development side for Cognite and be added to an upcoming sprint (with assigned timeline).
My understanding is that it is there to warn individuals filling a checklist from accidentally setting a whole section or remaining tasks in a section to N/A (unintentionally and submitting the checklist). Once a checklist is submitted for approval, there is not an easy way to revert mistakes in a completed checklist.
Yes @Kristoffer Knudsen Being able to chose a previous version easily by the template administrators would be of definite value for various reasons, including accidental/un-intended changes. I would like your team to prioritize it, based on some of the recent lessons learnt on templates.
@Hunter Beck Can you or one of the product managers comment on the future of this beta? Custom dashboard with live timeseries is of great advantage for various use cases in manufacturing.

We need to have ability to add a picture as part of Add Item while building a Template. We should simultaneously consider the option of a short video too. So when someone new to doing the rounds start to use the checklist created from those templates (with picture/video added to the description of the line item), it greatly helps them locate (or double check) they are at the correct instrument, vessel, location etc. as described in the line item. The feature that currently exists is to capture pictures in the checklist, while going through and filling a checklist.
This topic is of benefit to a lot of end users in the Process Industry, where alarm management is key. It would be great if someone can Share some best practices and experiences with capturing various kinds of alarms & other messages that are generated by different source systems such as DCS, SIS, BMS etc. in CDF Throw more light on leveraging CDF for determining Alarm Metrics, Reports & KPIs
Additional information: CDF on the initial load is displaying only few thousand records and it appears that the source information in the dropdown, is being displayed relevant for those records. In cases where the desired source is not visible in the source drop down and the user is aware of the source name, user is able to manually type the source field and query/press enter and filter based on the manually typed source name. It is not possible for end users to be aware of the source or expect them to manually type the field. So, all source types should be visible on the drop down at all times or the source field should be made configurable (by a CDF admin) for different data types.
@Ankit Kumar What does it take to get a timeline to this much needed functionality for us? We would need near real time refresh feature on Power BI dashboards (getting data from CDF) and the ability to pull these dashboards from CDF for some of the initiatives, as top priorities. Can we setup a call to discuss some options and path forward? Adding @Philippe Bettler and @Jonathan Anoc to this thread.
@Anita Hæhre This is an important functionality for adoption. Need some traction on this item. Thanks
