Is environmental permit compliance still a manual, fragmented headache at your site?
First time posting here 🦋 Industrial Sustainability Director @Cognite working working on using data & SaaS to deliver more sustainable outcomes for heavy industrial assets. Practically this means leaning on site based regulatory context & grounding environmental performance in hard statutory permit limits rather than generic, top-down ESG reporting.
Right now, proving continuous compliance with environmental permits usually means reconciling data by hand. Sensor readings, permit PDFs, emission points, lab results, and breach records all live in separate systems—and the data is usually compiled too late.
That delay costs real money in fines, triggers heavy corrective action plans, and forces teams to reconstruct audit evidence long after an incident happens.
We are building PermitProof in Flows to fix this. Instead of a batch integration, PermitProof is built directly on CDF’s knowledge graph.
- Live Checks: Telemetry is checked live against permit thresholds, with alerts in place for near-misses.
- Connected Data: Permit limits, emission points, and breach events are modeled as connected views against the legal requirements of a site.
- Instant Audit Evidence: Every breach, or outlying data point writes a structured record/audit trail straight to the graph. The evidence is queryable from the start—no manual assembly required.
- Regulator Engagement: automation of monthly/periodic reporting in a standardized format.
Help us validate before we build further:
🔗 Integration: What does this need to plug into (SCADA, historian, LIMS) to be genuinely useful and not just another manual feed?
📊 Regulator Reporting: How does your site currently compile and submit breach reports, and where does that process break down the most?
