How do Functions work on CDF?

Hello,

There’s a number of Functions that used to work as expected but now fail to be executed correctly on their set schedules on a CDF project. The .zip files associated with the files are not present. Is there a relation between these functions failing and the absence of the .zip files under the Data Explorer tab?

Thanks,
Marwan

The zip-files are only used by the Functions service at the point of creating the function. Once created, the zip-file is no longer used by the Functions service. Thus, the absence of the zip-files is not causing any failure in your functions’ executions.

To figure out what is going wrong in your scheduled functions, I would start to look into the following:

  • What information can you gather from the logs?
  • If there are no logs, it could be that the schedules’ credentials have expired. If so, can you check if they are still valid? If they are not valid (for example expired), you can recreate the schedules with new credentials.

@Henrik Eiding Thanks for the reply. How to retrieve the code the functions are executing after the .zip files get deleted?

If you have deleted the file, there is no way to retrieve it, unfortunately.
