Recently, the use of Charts has been increasing, and more users are creating complex calculations for data visualization.

In this context, we have received feedback requesting a “Back” button (undo function).

When users are building complex calculation formulas, there have been multiple instances where the calculation source suddenly disappears, forcing them to restart from scratch. The more complex the calculation, the greater the impact of this issue.

To mitigate this, it would be extremely helpful to have a function that allows users to go back one step (e.g., an undo or back button).

We believe this feature would significantly improve usability and reduce the risk of losing work during calculation editing.

Thank you for your consideration.

I have also occasionally encountered an issue where the calculation formula suddenly disappears.

Since it only happens intermittently and is not reproducible, it is difficult to explain or demonstrate it with a video or other evidence. However, when it does occur, it takes a considerable amount of time and effort to restore the formula.

Having an undo or back function would serve as a safety net in such situations and would greatly improve usability. I would really appreciate your consideration of this feature.

Hi Kubota, and thanks Shun for the added detail.

There are really two things here, and both are useful for us.

First, the undo/back function. You're right that Charts doesn't currently let you step back during calculation editing, and we can see why that hurts most on complex calculations where rebuilding is costly. It's a reasonable ask and we've noted it.

Second, and more urgent, is the calculation source disappearing mid edit. That reads like a defect rather than a missing feature, and an undo button would be a safety net over the top of it rather than a fix. If either of you can share anything about when it happens (a particular calculation type, browser, or a rough sense of what you were doing just before), even without a clean reproduction, that would genuinely help us track it down.

Appreciate you both raising this.
