Currently, monitoring alert emails cannot be customized beyond a certain point: the email subject is always “An alert was created” and the body of the email cannot be customized to be more user-friendly for readers, etc. I would like more customization for the alert emails.

Hi @mbgeiser

Thanks for the request. This makes sense, and we can see the value here. Currently, when you get an email alert, the goal is to prompt the user to navigate to the specific chart of interest to see more information about the alert and the monitoring job.

For clarity, in the email alert specifically, what exact additional information would you like to see to address your request here?

Hello @danielferraz

Thanks for your response. Here are some specifics I would like to see:

  1. The ability to customize the entire email title. The current default title of “An alert was created” gives no context to the specific alert in question. It would call better attention if it were more appropriately named according to the nature of the alert itself.
  2. In the body of the email before the section called “Alert activity,” there should be an “Alert message” field that alert designers can customize to include plain, human language describing what the alert is notifying the recipient of and any guidance on how they should respond. The current “Alert activity” section is not sufficient here.
  3. The “Alert activity” field of the email body would be better called “Alert criteria.”

Thank you!
