Once a calculation created in Charts is saved and scheduled (thereby converting it into a time series), the associated metadata becomes fixed. This includes attributes such as units, name, and refresh interval (e.g., 1 minute, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 month). For example: Some calculations were saved and scheduled with a 1-minute refresh frequency. However, no data appears after scheduling because the underlying PI tag does not produce data at a 1-minute interval. To correct this, the refresh frequency would need to be changed to 1 hour or 1 month—but this is currently not possible. The only workaround is to delete the generated time series, redo the calculation, and save and schedule it again.

Hi Ain,

Thank you for your request. I’ve passed it along to the PM for Charts, and we’ll follow up as soon as there’s news.

Best regards,

Hi @Ain Nizam

To help me understand your request, are you wanting the ability to change the configuration of a scheduled calculation after it has been created? Could you elaborate more on what your desire is here.

Hi @danielferraz .

  1. Could you define more on what do you mean by configuration of a scheduled calculation?
  2. Pi data comes in at the interval of 3-4seconds, then saving and scheduling the calculation was defined as 1minutes (higher than 4seconds). However, the option for picking 1 minute shown as ‘data not found’. Could you explain more on why this is happening? I would understand if this happened when our defined interval is smaller than pi data frequency as we wont have data.
  3. If Pi data comes in at the interval of 3-4seconds, could we specify scheduled time series as 1second?

    Thanks,
    Ain
