In many occasions, I would like to save the result of queries into a csv file.

It can be:

  • the result of a SQL query (for example the output of a transformation preview) or
  • when I filter a data model view
  • when I filter a resource type in classic data explorer

In general, all table results should have a download button as it allows the user to do further local processing.

Thank you for your request. We’ve forwarded it to the relevant teams and will get back to you once there’s an update.

In the meantime, could you please share a bit more about the use cases for the CSV files? This will help us better understand your needs and prioritize accordingly.

Hi Que,

Here are a couple, mostly for search.

  • I want to do analytics on my work orders , group them and sort them on any attribute (column). This will help me detect patterns, e.g. this type of order is more prevalent on this site, discover bad actors and take proper action.
  • It could also be that I am looking for all work orders that have a specific keyword on a description attribute and uncover recurring issues with asset/site.

And a quote from another customer (Celanese): “anywhere there is a tabular view of something - raw, DM, fusion UI - people will be happier if they can export it and sort, filter, group.”
