Robotics hybrid approach for plant monitoring / inspection

As an industrial environment is not initially designed to let a robot to access to all areas, may be a solution to offer for robotics is to propose an hybrid approach combining a crawling/walking robot (main) with a flying drone.
The crawling/walking robot will be used as a “base station” for the drone to charge, download data from a round, upload data to have a defined route or area to access.

This also allows to restrict risks related to the management of common access (human and robots) on standard working areas, or areas out of main robot perimeter.

By combining these two technologies, all areas from any industrial plant may be accessed. The only restrictions are on some specific areas (flare, chimney) where the drone needs to fly a bit away from the danger zone.
