Hi everyone! I’d like to know if there’s a way to edit the information included in email alerts generated by Charts. Currently, the email only shows the tag and states that the limit has been exceeded, but it would be helpful to include the actual value that exceeded the limit, rather than simply noting the exceedance. Is there any way to customize this information in Charts?

@Silveira Catharina Radix I don’t think that it is possible at the moment. Would it be ok if I convert this question to a feature request?

@Mithila Jayalath
I’m very interested in this feature as well. At my workplace, when we receive alert emails from Charts, we often struggle because the subject line and body don’t clearly indicate what kind of alert has occurred or what actions should be taken in response. To enable quick and effective action starting from the alert email, we would really appreciate having a feature that allows users to customize the subject line and body of these alert emails.

@Shun Takase Thank you for your feedback. @Silveira Catharina Radix I converted your question into a product idea.

Hi @Silveira Catharina Radix and @Shun Takase

Thanks for the request. This makes sense, and we can see the value here. Currently, when you get an email alert, the goal is to prompt the user to navigate to the specific chart of interest to see more information about the alert and the monitoring job.

For clarity, in the email alert specifically, what exact additional information would you like to see to address your request here?

Hi , @danielferraz
Thank you for your reply.

It is difficult to define exactly what information would be sufficient,
because users set up email alerts for a wide variety of reasons, and the actions that should be taken afterward differ from case to case.

For example, when an instrument exceeds a threshold, the required action might be:

  • “Please review page 15 of the ○○ file and take the appropriate action,”
  • “Please inspect the status of the △△ instrument on site,” or
  • “Please inform Mr./Ms. □□ from the ×× department about the situation.”

Therefore, it would be preferable for users to be able to freely customize both the subject and the body of alert emails.

As an example, Power Automate provides a feature that allows users to customize emails sent via Outlook.
Ideally, it would be great if similar functionality could be implemented within Charts.

I understand that this may be a difficult request, but I would greatly appreciate your consideration.
