Hi,

When we do manual annotations we would the option to filter what we search for. For example in this search I am looking to the tag “21L3201” but I’m only interested in the one from the IAA facility. And when I am in a document from IAA I am only interested in IAA tags, searching through the SKA facility is just noise.

In addition we have different representations of this tag in different datasets, the tag “IAA-21L3201” is technically a match but it is from a dataset that for this use case is nothing but noise.

When we do manual annotations we know what space/dataset the tag is located in within CDF and we always know which physical facility it belongs to. Searching through all of CDF is a neat feature in theory, but in practice it is noise.

There should be a way to filter on dataset/metadata to make it easier to find the tags/assets that are actually relevant.

Second this!

Here is another example (below) of “duplicates” that show up when searching for a tag. There is a “13L0209” tag at facility=IAA and at facility=EDG, in addition to SAP functional-locations(IAA-13L0209, EDG-13L0209).

We only want to annotate with the Aveva-Net tags that don’t start with the Facility abbreviation and are only relevant for the facility that the document belongs to.

Hi @Markus Pettersen and @Veronica Tverbakk!

When you do manual annotations, you should have some filtering options available. Have you seen the option to open the filter menu on the left hand side?

Will this meet your needs?

That icon looks more like a “close panel” icon without the tooltip. I at least have managed to overlook it entirely. Thanks for the clarification.

I agree. It is not obvious. We use the same icon as on the landing page of Data Explorer, but there the filters are exposed by default..

hi @Sofie Svartdal Berge

i found this topic i strongly agree.

what is more, search configuration botton can help filter name and/or description to get the data i want.
