Provide an additional attribute level to filter 3D resource layers, e.g. “Unit” or “Project”.

Example:

CAD models → Project → Model Name

Point clouds → Unit → Point cloud Name

Hi @BeauSlaughter ,

Thanks a lot for sharing your feedback! To better evaluate this feature idea, I’d appreciate a bit more context.

Could you describe the use case you're trying to solve?

From your screenshot, the models are already filtered based on the selected location and scene. A scene can represent either a full location or a unit, and will include all models relevant to that scope.

You mention the term project. In CDF, we structure data as follows:
Project (all single models) → Location (represented in 3D as a scene)→ Sub-location (could be represented as a section of the 3D content available for the entire location).
In your case, would project correspond to a location in this structure?

Additionally, you can open individual models using the selector within the search bar (see screenshot below). This list includes all models published in the CDF project.

Currently, there is no functionality to categorize or sort individual models in Industrial Tools, as the 3D Configuration does not support model categorization.

Am I correct in understanding that this is the functionality you're looking for?

Looking forward to your clarification!

Best regards,
