Share Your Expertise: The Cognite Hub Contribution Guide

Your insights and expertise move the needle! By sharing your best practices, use cases, and technical solutions, you empower others to innovate with Cognite Data Fusion.

When you contribute, you don’t just help others - you position yourself as a technical leader, receive expert feedback, and earn recognition within the global Cognite community.

1. How the Process Works

To maintain the high quality of our official libraries, all contributions follow a "Community-First" workflow.

  1. Draft your content: Use the templates below to ensure your post is impactful.

  2. Post to the Public Community: Click + Create Topic and share your post in the relevant Public Community Group (e.g., Product User Community or Developer Community).

  3. Use the Magic Tag: Add the tag #CommunityContribution to your post. This alerts the Admin team that your content is ready for review.

  4. Admin Promotion: Our team reviews all tagged posts. High-quality, actionable content will be moved by an Admin to the official How-To Library, Use Case Library, or Deployment Packs Library.

💡 The Key to Success

Remember: You cannot post directly into the Libraries. Always start in the Public Community and use the #CommunityContribution tag so we can find and promote your work!

2. What to Share

Choose the structure that best fits your insight:

  • Best Practices: Highlight techniques or methods that simplify workflows or improve efficiency.

  • Use Cases: Share real-world scenarios showcasing how CDF addresses specific industrial challenges.

  • How-To Guides: Teach others how to solve a specific problem or use a feature effectively (articles or videos).

  • Deployment Packs: Share technical configurations or ready-to-use workflows.

3. Content Templates

To increase the chances of your post being promoted to the Library, try to follow these structures:

For Use Cases & Best Practices

  • Context: What challenge does this address?

  • The Solution: A clear overview of the approach and the features used.

  • The Workflow: Steps or processes involved (with screenshots if possible).

  • The Outcome: What was the final benefit or lesson learned?

For How-To Guides (articles or video demos)

  • Objective: What will the reader/viewer achieve?

  • Step-by-Step: Clear, actionable instructions.

  • Pro-Tips: Helpful shortcuts or "gotchas" to avoid.

  • Resources: Links to documentation or relevant data samples.

4. Recognition & Rewards

Once an Admin promotes your post to an official Library, you unlock the following:

  • "Community Contributed" Tag: Your post will be officially marked to acknowledge your status as a contributor.

  • Cognite Academy: Exceptional content may be featured in our Microlearning Library on Cognite Academy.

  • Community Points: You will be awarded points for every promoted post, helping you climb the community leaderboard and level up your profile.
