Introducing the Industrial Community Component library, powered by Aura

The Aura design system team has launched a shared community repo where builders can contribute and pull industrial components, patterns, and app templates instead of building from scratch every time.

❓Why
Builder feedback and app audits turned up the same problems: components either don't exist yet or exist somewhere nobody can find, so people rebuild the same things repeatedly. Aura is also an intentionally a high bar for contribution as changes can have wide-reaching impact. Community gives builders a lower-stakes place to share and refine work without waiting on Aura. It also protects the platform experience - the more apps share real, proven patterns, the less an end-user has to relearn when moving between them.

🛠 How it works

• Centralized repo with a registry-based install approach means one single source of truth where you can pull a component or app template with one command, customize it for your use case, and run updates on your own terms
• Usage tracking signals to us which components are heavily adopted and can graduate into Aura, where the Aura team takes over long-term maintenance
• A lightweight contribution bar makes it easy to contribute but keeps quality up and avoids duplicate or abandoned submissions
• A dedicated website (with ongoing improvements) allows you to browse, demo, and visually re-theme everything in Aura + community!
