Hi,

Data models names are limited to 37 chars today. Is this a hard limit? Is there a way to extend this so we can have more possibilities for internal naming conventions?

Thank you!

Hi @Marwen TALEB

Are you referring to the name field in endpoint for creating or updating data models, described here

The API specification states that name strings can have a maximum length of 255 characters. I did test this now just to be sure and it accepts 250 characters and returns a 400 when presented with string of 251 characters and above.

Space and version are both limited to 43 characters, based on a few resons.

Hope this helps

Hello @Arild Eide ,

I was asking regarding space limit indeed! is it possible to increase it?

The confusion comes from the fact that we use the same name for data model and their spaces, sorry!

Thanks!

Hi @Marwen TALEB

Thanks for clarifying!

The 43-character limit for the space identifier is a hard architectural constraint and cannot be raised due to underlying implementation factors. I hope can work around this, for instance by defining a mapping scheme to go from data model names to more compact space identifiers.
