The new Cognite Data Fusion (CDF) Delivery Bootcamp is an intensive 5-day training program focusing on a complete deployment, combining the different steps with DevOps best practices from CDF bootstrapping to solution deployment, monitoring, and operations.
Where can I register for the bootcamp?
We currently accept preregistrations on Cognite Academy. After you preregister, you'll receive an email with instructions for payment. Your seat on the training will be confirmed by email after Cognite receives payment. For further information or assistance, please contact your designated Cognite contact.
Who is the bootcamp for?
The bootcamp’s best suited for technical users of Cognite Data Fusion across all industries who will ingest and contextualize data and create solutions. Participants must complete prerequisite courses on Cognite Academy to have sufficient knowledge about CDF prior to starting the bootcamp.
What are the prerequisites for the bootcamp?
Participants must complete the following learning paths and courses on Cognite Academy:
Cognite Data Fusion Fundamentals
Data Engineer Basics - Integrate
Data Engineer Basics - Transform and Contextualize
CDF Delivery Bootcamp Preparation
In addition, participants have to review the following reading materials:

Azure Active Directory groups and service principles
What data is used in the bootcamp?
The exercises are built on synthetic data from a large international ice cream manufacturer. The manufacturer wants to improve workflows across many different solution areas, such as process optimization, monitoring asset performance, product quality, etc.
What topics does the bootcamp cover?
Day 1 | Data Foundation: Access management, deploy data foundation |
Day 2 | Data integration: Extractors, pipelines, custom extractors, Cognite functions |
Day 3 | Data Modeling: Data modeling, CDM, transformations, asset hierarchies, Python SDK, GitHub Actions |
Day 4 | Data Orchestration and Industrial tools: Workflows, calculations, industrial canvas, data exploration |
Does the bootcamp use flexible data modeling?
The current version of the bootcamp doesn’t use flexible data modeling. Flexible data modeling will be introduced into the bootcamp in 2024 H2.
How much does a seat at the bootcamp cost?
A seat at the bootcamp costs 3,750 USD.
What does the price of a seat at the bootcamp include?
In addition to participation at the 4-day bootcamp, it includes:

Access to a personal CDF project for the duration of the bootcamp.

Lunch and refreshments on site.
How intensive is the bootcamp?
The Cognite Data Fusion Bootcamp is a 5-day intensive in-person training that starts every day at 9am and lasts until 5pm.
Can I participate virtually?
From 2024 H2, there will be a virtual version of the bootcamp.
Will there be bootcamps outside of Oslo?
Yes, we organize the bootcamp monthly, alternating between Oslo and Houston, Texas. We are considering bootcamps in the APAC region as well. Please add a comment below if you’re interested.
Will I receive a certificate?
You will gain a certificate and a badge on Cognite Hub if you successfully complete the bootcamp, including a post-bootcamp project task. The instructors will share detailed information on the requirements on the first day of the bootcamp.
