Different types of edges connecting nodes in FDM

Related products:Data Modeling

Hi,

So far, I have the understanding that you can add edges between nodes, however, not different type of edges.

In a watercourse, one would have several hydro power plants, reservoirs, etc.. and different water routes and flood routes connecting these objects (nodes). These connections would be of different type of edges, which seems to be a lacking feature in FDM if I am correct. Having this function available in FDM would be helpful in developing a data model for our water courses :)

Hi Gajanthini,

In FDM, it is possible to define different groups of properties (which we will call Data Containers in our API) on edges, meaning edges can mean different things and be used for different purposes, depending on the data containers you wish to assign it.

After checking back with the teams, I can confirm that whilst the capability to create edges with properties exists in the backend, we have not yet exposed this functionality on the front end or via the GraphQL API.

We do expect to work on this in the coming delivery cycle, but unfortunately cannot commit to a date for availability at this time.
