Canvas - Improving Collaborative Features

We just did a hands-on session, and expectations were heavily frustrated by no live collaboration features.

We are also having similar comments from our teams. We have teams starting to build more canvases and this enhancement item often comes up. I forgot to ask about this item in our last conversation.

We totally understand the frustration and the need for such experience in Canvas. It’s our top priority, and we are actively working on it (it requires more technical effort than initially estimated). We aim to make it available by the end of the year.

We are also really excited for this feature.  We are expanding our use of Canvas as a platform of work and have found it transformative.  Being able to work together, simultaneously, on the same Canvas will only help accelerate this.  Please let me know if there’s anything we can assist with (comments, beta testing, etc)

I would also like to provide you with an update on our progress to enable real-time collaboration between multiple users. 

• We recently released presence indicators, the first step towards multiple users editing the same canvas at the same time. User presence indicators that show who else is in the Canvas. This feature is in private beta, meaning it is currently available to specific environments. If any of you would like to have this enabled in your projects and test it out, please reach out to your Cognite representative and me. Please note that still only one user can edit a canvas.
• We are continuing the work during Q1 and aiming to release the full real-time collaboration experience in Q2’26.
