Filling out on behalf of an engineer super user: A user may not want to make a given Chart public if they are verifying the validity of a calculation. The user should have the ability to share a private Chart with the users of their choosing.
Filling out on behalf of an engineer at CLK site:Monitoring email notifications/alerts should include a link to the relevant Charts and Monitoring jobs within the body of the email itself. This would make it easier for the user to follow up and reference the relevant information rather than having to manually log into CDF and finding the Chart separately.
Filling out on behalf of an engineer super user: When looking through the files of an asset, I only see the P&ID number in the “Tree” view. There should be more information like P&ID title or other details while still in the Tree view so it’s easier to understand what the P&ID contains without having to enter each P&ID/equipment drawing to find out.Scratched the names out in the image below, but say you have a P&ID named “12AB0123” - this doesn’t tell the user very much information.
Monitoring jobs should have the ability to add more options to thresholds than just “above” or “below”. We have use cases where the threshold needs to be “between” and allow the ability to add two values. I can see users wanting to do above and/or equal to, below and/or equal to, equal to, or outside of a specified range.
In InField 1.0, we could at least see the date when a given template was last edited and by whom it was edited by. (see attached picture). In InField 2.0, we lose this ability - it would be helpful to understand what the last change was and who made the change in order to follow up with that person and ask follow up questions.
I was fixing a task in InField 2.0 by deleting the synthetic tag assigned. But then I wanted to see what the original tag chosen was. Unfortunately when I clicked “Cancel” at the bottom of the editing window of that task, and then I re-entered the task - the task had auto-saved and I couldn’t go back to what it had originally been. The auto-save is great - but what if I want to see prior edits for a given task?
In InField 1.0 process experts have the ability to open checklists from templates. In InField 2.0, process experts cannot even access the templates. The process experts should be able to access the templates in case their templates do not have time intervals and are on an "as needed" basis for opening checklists. Learning facilitators or team captains will need to open on-demand checklists on their desktop as a workaround.
Submitted on behalf of Celanese Learning Facilitators (Kenny, Kyle, Rudy, and Hud): As a Learning Facilitator or process expert, I want to be able to trend line items from my InField checklist rather than have to rely on tags so that I can see what the past values for that specific checklist item have been. InField will only visualize tags with a hyperlink, but some checklist items don’t contain tags. There is no way to see the history on it without having to go back to completed/archived electronic checklists. The Learning Facilitator said, “At that point, I'd rather just go back to using paper than having to check each individual archived checklist.”

(There are also many use cases at the site that relate to safety checklists that would benefit from this product idea):As an InField template creator and user, I would like to be able to pull from a generic template that I can then link to any asset. As an example, I perform a visual inspection of many pieces of equipment across the site. I don’t want to have to create unique templates with the same 19 questions and have to tailor each of the line items to the asset. Instead, it would be convenient to have a generic template of those 19 questions that I can then assign the entire checklist to a specific asset rather than going down to the task level. In addition to this, it would be nice if the template or checklist could read the asset’s QR code and automatically pull up the basic asset information so that I can focus on the 19 questions for inspection purposes. As a template creator, I would like the ability to embed an image within a checklist item to help the checklist user with tasks. For example, the Maintenance Manager at Celanese requested this because on their pump bearing sheets, they have images to help technicians identify what they’re seeing in the field prior to performing the rest of the steps on their sheet. I can see many other use cases for this for other template creators - for example, process learning facilitators could use this to help make sure that the process experts or perhaps contractors during a turnaround, are looking at the right piece of equipment when performing a task.The ability to add images as part of the checklist item would help enhance the user’s experience, potentially eliminate human error and avoid safety hazards.
Use case filled out on behalf of Maintenance and Reliability groups: It would be nice to search for an asset within InField or by an asset type, say a centrifugal pump called Pump ABC, for instance. If I searched for Pump ABC in InField, or even if I searched for centrifugal pumps, I would like to see all possible generic templates that could possibly be filled out for this type of pump or asset. So if I have a generic template for centrifugal pumps, I could tag the template itself as used for this type of asset, and Pump ABC would automatically be associated to that template. This would benefit template users so that they don’t have to search for each individual form within InField, they’d search by the asset name instead, which would be a more realistic and intuitive search query. cc: @rsiddha @asgottlieb @ibrahim.alsyed
Originally this was filled out as a bug, but the support team recommended to fill out as a product idea. After I change the name of a synthetic tag in InField 2.0, I still only see the external ID in the first edit view. I have to click on the pencil icon to edit the tag, and then I will be able to see what the new name I changed it to, is.The name that shows up in the first edit task view should show as the updated tag, rather than the external ID. Otherwise, what is the point of having the ability to change the name? If a user needs to search for a tag in CDF or in InField, do they need to know the updated name or external ID?First image: external ID shows, despite the changed nameSecond image: updated name
Feedback from one of the learning facilitators (template creator) is that the dialog box that pops up after selecting "Mark all remaining tasks as" for a section is unnecessary. They said they would like to get rid of it because even if they mark all the tasks as something on accident, they could still undo this one by one.If anything, the option dropdown in InField 2.0 should have "To-Do" as an option in case the checklist user wants to reset the status.
Filling out on behalf of an engineer super user in a Global role: I frequently need to look at data from other sites across other time zones. It would be helpful if I could see their data in THEIR time zone rather than converted to mine so that when I assist with troubleshooting or other support, I am easily able to refer to the same data points without having to convert all of the times.
In InField 2.0, there is not a way to visualize past values of OK/Not OK or for custom state selections like Yes/No or Pump A/Pump B or High/Normal/Low. In InField 1.0, we at least had the ability to see In/Out/Up and High/Normal/Low as time series. Learning facilitators, team captains, and engineers would like a way to visualize custom state selections and the history of selections. This was brought up originally in a discussion group for Celanese, and we were encouraged to post as a general product idea on Hub.
It's hard to tell the date of each checklist in the checklist view. As a process expert, it would be nice to have older checklists especially have dates so that it's easier to find more recently opened ones.
If a time series is empty but used in a calculation - it should treat it as zero, rather than not allowing the calculation to function at all. Please refer to Bug #10057 where this was originally filled out (complete with pictures), but the outcome was a recommendation to fill out as a product enhancement request since this was as designed.
When a new user logs into InField 2.0 for the first time, their default location is set to the very first location for the organization in the dropdown. This should instead be set to the proper site location that the user’s access permissions have them in. For example, someone from the Shelby site should see “SH” or something instead of “AT”.
The icons on the checklists don't necessarily match the shift that the checklist is meant for. For example, there are checklists that release at 2am but are meant to be available for when the day shift comes on. The checklists that release at 2pm are meant for night shift. In this case, the sun icon does not make sense for the 2pm checklist, and the would instead make more sense for the 2am checklist. Same thing with the moon icon for 2am - it would make more sense for 2pm release since it is meant for the night shift. The template creator could designate the proper icon to describe the shift to complete the checklist.
In InField 1.0, synthetic tags would automatically have all letters lowercased.In InField 2.0, the lowercase and uppercase lettering seems to matter. Users would prefer it all be lowercased for them to avoid discrepancies in naming convention usage.
In InField 1.0, synthetic tags would automatically add underscores when users would put a space. This functionality is no longer present for InField 2.0 but the end users are used to it at this point, and it looks odd to them when there are spaces when searching for tag names.
Filled out originally as a bug, but was asked to post as a product idea instead.In InField 1.0, numerical measurement readings could be entered on a desktop by using the "enter" key. In InField 2.0, the "tab" key is the one that actually enters values, and the "enter" key does not do anything. It would be more intuitive to keep the "enter" button as the input button. This would likely impact learning facilitators (template admins) and console operators the most, as they are the ones more likely to be completing checklists on their desktop where this functionality would make a difference, rather than completing the checklists on mobile device.
There should be an eas(ier) way to mass-delete or mass-change a time interval. Mass Deletion:Currently one can select all tasks and ADD a time interval, but cannot select all tasks and delete a common time interval that all of them have.Mass Change:One can replace time intervals, but the replacement HAS to have the same number of time intervals in the desired change as already exists in each individual task. If not, nothing gets replaced and instead the time intervals are added on top of what exists, so you then have to clean up the entire template.
The ability to view settings and especially root locations, should be restricted. It is understood that not everyone can change the settings, but even the ability to view the settings should be limited to at least only learning facilitators (template admins).
