We have been experiencing a few issues with both the Jupyter and Streamlit implementations in Cognite. I will list them here, with a brief description, but am preparing a full document also (just waiting on the other devs to gather the other evidences).

Bugs – Jupyter:

“Ghost” characters: sometimes in markdown (text) cells, the characters “skip” and we cannot write text correctly. Some of our devs also experienced this bug in code output cells.

Semi-colon element: there is a <div> in the top Navigator (where the File, Edit, etc, options are) that blocks the interaction. It is a simple fix, and was already brought up to Cognite.

Bugs – Streamlit:

IDE Cursor jump: sometimes, while writing code into the development environment (IDE), when pressing tab (for indentation purposes), the cursor automatically jumps to End of File.

Thank you for the reports @ibrahim.alsyed. I’ll file reports for the individual issues and provide some updates/status later tonight or tomorrow. Regards, Lars

@Lars Moastuen  any update?

Hey Ibrahim,

So the extra semi colon is fixed in staging, please verify at https://staging.fusion.cognite.com. We are looking into the ghost characters now.

I got the notebook and could reproduce the problem with the ghost character. I see that this is also happening in https://jupyter.org/try-jupyter/lab/, so this is currently a bug outside of Cognite’s control. We will report this to the JupyterLab team. Thanks!
