About a year ago, we discussed an alternative approach in this community involving Push and Streaming Datasets. Have you had a chance to review the guidelines below? If they don't meet your needs, please feel free to disregard my suggestion.

We have explored the option of streaming dataset in order to push data to Power BI. In order to use this, we need to store the streaming dataset on Power BI workspace which limit the scalability due to limitations of how much data we can store on Power BI workspace. This also doesn’t allow us to build our visualizations in Power BI desktop that limits the capabilities of Power BI tool. 

Hence, we are looking for alternative solution than what has been suggested in the link you have shared.

I understand. My previous experience involved DirectQuery, but that was outside of CDF. We are looking forward to this feature being available in CDF soon, which could be the ideal solution if you need to use Power BI to access real-time data.

I believe this is something which every consumer of CDF integrating it with PowerBI is looking for.

Something for Cognite product team to consider as CDF with Power BI is a very commonly used visualization.

Regarding your message in the private Teams chat, I believe we should discuss this further as it relates to an alternative approach for using a CDF Function to push data to Power BI. Additionally, we should cover your guidelines on how to control access to CDF data in Power BI.
