We should build an extractor that connects to an InfluxDB 2.x (most common) locally and will push up Time Series data much like it does with Pi.

Hi @jaredcomer35

Thank you for your insight.

I'll discuss it with my team after the Easter break and get back to you with our evaluation.

Thanks and regards,

Elka

@jaredcomer35,

Apologies for the late follow-up. We’ve transitioned the responsibilities of the extractors and it seems this product idea fell between the cracks during the transition. As the Product Manager for Extractors now, I’ll work to chase down any decision made before my taking over the program and/or make a decision ASAP.

@Thomas Sjølshagen - Can you provide an update on this, thanks.

We do not currently have any plans to extend the DB extractor to support InfluxDB.

@Thomas Sjølshagen Does this change anything now that Influxdb 3.x is GA?

Hi @jaredcomer35

We are currently running a small proof of concept (POC) using Apache Airflow as the workflow orchestration tool and data extractor. The solution is implemented through a DAG (Directed Acyclic Graph) consisting of three primary PythonOperator tasks: (1) a task that connects to InfluxDB using the influxdb-client library to query the required time series data; (2) a task that processes and transforms the data into the structure expected by Cognite Data Fusion (CDF), ensuring proper timestamp formatting and external ID mappings; and (3) a task that writes the transformed data into CDF using the cognite-sdk-python library.

If you are handling extraction with a different approach, it would be great to learn how you are implementing it.
