Cognite’s names for Categories (eg. Assets or Equipment) does not align with our companies internal FLOC/Asset/Equipment naming structure which is consistent across our internal source systems.  We would like the ability to re-name Categories or fields from each source system so that we can maintain consistency across all of our data systems and make the user experience much cleaner and less confusing.

Hi @John Cassidy !

I understand the need. The Core Data Model works as a starting point, but we see customers have the need to customize to have their data model reflect the internal naming structure.

When modeling/creating your data model, you can today rename/create your own names for Categories and Columns. One would use the Core Data Model as a starting point, then extend or copy it to get freedom in naming.

I’ll ping the Cognite team linked to your company to follow up on this 😊
