Can we add the ability to use Wildcards like “*” in search terms? Our users say SAP and Oracle allow them to use wildcards, so Cognite should as well.

Hi @Emily Viola and thank you for this product Idea. This is not the first time we’ve been asked to support wildcard searches in searches. We do currently have support for some of the more common patterns that are used when people apply wildcard searches. Typically searches that “startsWith” and “endsWith”, which are relatively uncomplicated to support in our architecture. Some of the more challenging patterns include multiple wildcards to deal with patterns (sort of like wild-card based regular expression-like searches), etc.

Do you have any insights into examples of patterns your customers are likely to want to use, that you can share with us?

They would likely use wildcards between letters & numbers, like T*139 instead of T0139.
