Hello,We’re currently having some issues with pulling our PI data from Cognite since we have several PI tags that are string timseries vs numeric (as in rather than having 0 or 1, the timeseries shows open or closed). It appears that Cognite cannot handle string timeseries because they cannot be aggregated, however some of the logic that’s built in to our devices can only be pulled in this manner. We’d at least need a way for Cognite to convert the data pulled as strings as numeric and maybe auto assigning numeric values to each string event? A bonus would be to have an associated conversion of those numeric values to the associated string from the pullExample:Cognite pulls timseries EXAMPLE.TIME.VALVE.A.STATUS that contains “Open” and “Closed” and auto assigns 0 to “Open” and 1 to “Closed”There’s then an associated ‘conversion’ that states for timeseries EXAMPLE.TIME.VALVE.A.STATUS:0 = “Open”1 = “Closed” then Cognite pulls another timeseries EXAMPLE.TIME.VALVE.B.STATUS and happens to
Hello everyone,I was curious if anyone has leveraged Cognite AIR (Automated Identification and Reporting) in a way where alerts could be triggered off of other alerts? If so, how has this been done?I’d like for this to be a core feature of AIR where you can build a workflow from a visual canvas (similar to the charts function builder) and say “If this alert is triggered, check if this other alert has been triggered also” and so on. This would allow for setting up “offline conditions” so we don’t see all anomaly alerts or threshold alerts unless we can confirm the equipment is running, or even automate root cause investigations. Currently if I build an alert, I’m getting too many “false positives” of sorts that I’d like to filter out. Any input is welcome. Thank you,Richard Maidla (Hess Corporation)
Have been having issues with Cognite Charts since it’s been merged into CDF. Whenever I try to go to charts, I have to clear the cache in my browser for it to work, otherwise it doesn’t load. This is a small nuisance that can prevent people from adopting the use of Charts as their daily tool.
Would be great to have the ability to open timeseries that are part of a template directly in Charts as this would give users a quick way to verify that they’re using the correct timeseries and can compare the outputs from templates with calculations that they create in Charts
Team - is there a way to generate a calculation in Cognite charts where you’re comparing data from the current timestamp value to something several minutes prior (say 30 minutes)? Any assistance on this would be welcome!
Cognite Team - thank you for bringing back the ability to overlay events directly on the chart as was previously a capability in ADI. It’s a welcome return and valuable add to the application. After utilizing the app a bit, I have a couple of “low hanging fruit” recommendations:Can we add the event description to the metadata that’s shown on the event? Is there a way to toggle using both start time and end time vs. just using start time? Some of the events that we have run for months and the start time is really the only relevant point for the trendHere are some more complex recommendations:Since charts is now integrated directly in Data Explorer - is there a way to click on the event results and actually go to the event directly in CDF to look at all the metadata? When filtering for events by selecting the asset - is there a way to toggle “select all children” as well? An example is that we have several pumps where work is tagged to the smallest component, but if we filter the events t
We have a few use cases where our team wants to set the min and max within InField based off of existing timeseries.Scenario - we’re tracking chemical injection and want to input into InField what the injection setpoint is. We’re calculating what that setpoint should be based off of current well production, so the setpoint is more dynamic. Currently the chemical team needs to print out their estimates from that morning, run their calculations and print that out to take with them in on the platform. We’ve created calculated timeseries directly in CDF which is contextualized to the equipment that their entering the value for, but they don’t want to click on the asset to see the target and click back to the checklist - they’d like for it to be part of the template / checklist more as a “one-stop-shop”
In Cognite Remote / Data Fusion, it would be good to add the ability to slice on the X/Y plane as opposed to just the Z plane to better isolate the area of interest. This is relevant to 3D CAD models as well as point clouds.
@Eric Stein-Beldring - is there a way to lock the y-axis when you have a chart in stacked mode? We have a good example that our team has been using where we’ve created a calculated column that we need to zoom in on to see the short term trends, but the moment we move the mouse over the chart the y-axis automatically re-adjusts not allowing us to use the stacked feature. If we could toggle y-axis auto adjustment, that would be very valuable! Not zoomed burgundy line vsZoomed burgundy line
Hello,One of the members on our team had an idea about generating a checklist based off of selected work orders from the “Work Plan” section. Currently you can turn the objects from a work order into a checklist in InField, however there isn’t a good way to aggregate all your days tasks into a checklist. It would be great if from the Work Plan view you would select which work orders make up your day and turn that into a checklist so that you can go completing the checklist as the activity is complete throughout the day rather than keeping a separate notebook or log of what work has been completed. Not sure if this is already available, but if so I couldn’t figure out how to do it.
Not sure if this is already a built in capability (though if it is it’s not obvious) - for land operations it would be very beneficial to have some sort of map search (similar to what I believe is offered in Discover?). It would be very beneficial for an engineer that’s not familiar with an asset to highlight a section of a map and see all timeseries for that section (and then subsequently filter down further to what specifically they’re looking for like temperatures, flows, etc.)
It would be great if in InField you could tag an asset (like you currently do) and then add sub-tasks that are explicitly data capture (such as temperatures / pressures / etc) that automatically get turned into timeseries values that are contextualized back to the tagged asset.
Currently just shows everything that’s available in an asset. Would be good to add a filter option to search through what’s available.
@Eric Stein-Beldring - is there any plan to add the ability to apply a threshold in Charts to multiple lines at once rather than setting up a threshold for each? Example: if you pull in several “level indicators” and want to set a threshold for when any of these exceeds 80%, it would be beneficial to setup the threshold based on unit or select which lines can be added to a single threshold setpoint.
@Ragnhild Byrkjeland, @perolssoen, and @Christopher Tannum After using the new scene functionality in CDF, there are several things that I like about the application but also am experiencing some challenges that I believe need to be addressed before we can get end users to leverage the application:the asset layer seems to take a while to load on the backend. Not sure if there’s a way to set this up to load faster? once assets are loaded, the pop-up window that shows the contextualized information is very glitchy - rendering it almost un-useable In general it doesn’t seem like the asset overlay is very reactive to a click of the mouse, but more of a hover over which seems less intuitive for end users It would be great to have a speed slider - like the one that was present in remote - to fine-tune the navigation. This will be particularly helpful when we bring in our subsea models into the scene It would be great if we could set certain attributes to default to be toggled “off” when firs
Currently when you click on related P&IDs / documents for an existing timeseries in Charts, it pulls up every available document as opposed to being able to filter for just file type, extension or group. It would be very handy to be able to filter the documents - especially when the timeseries is linked to an asset that has hundreds of documents.
