Format text in Industrial Canvas

Thank you for suggesting this product idea. We will follow the traction this idea gets in the community. You can expect updates on this post if we decide to include this in our future roadmap, or if we require more information.

This is almost indispensable to make the Industrial Canvas useful. I am more on the Chemical Engineering and Process Engineering side, and I need to show results to others and build stories in the Canvas.

To the improvements proposed by marksass, I would also add the ability to handle line wrap in the text box (as of now the box grows until the user presses enter). Having to manually add an EOL in the middle of a sentence to keep the size of the box reasonable, makes later editing of the text cumbersome, because changing the text would change the size of the box.

An editing control like the one I’m typing in right now would be great with all the formatting options (no need for the links, emojis or images options, but text format & tables yes, please).

Hey, I really like this idea. How soon can we get this???

The sticky notes are great but I want to be able to title them. for example, change the text sizes independently from other texts in the same sticky note. I also want the ability to underline/bold/italicize texts independently from other texts. basically I want to be able to customize the text box as we see fit without being limited to the options we have here.

The other main feature would be different shapes for sticky notes, like rectangular that i can customize. The colors currently available are limited and we typically use black or red text in work packages (and these are not available currently).

These features would provide us the value of creating engineering packages as we currently do it which would increase the adoption rate by at least 50% ( i mean this is the biggest request we have when we are rolling this out to other engineers).

Unfortunately, we had to delay this work until the next H1’26. I will come back with more info as soon as we start the development.
