The users have expressed interests in being able to see both observations and any comments/notes that have been linked to an asset on the asset overview page. This would make the data easily accessible rather than needing to open specific checklists.

Great to hear that they’ve already started to interact with Observations and that this has fostered new suggestions. Do you know how they envision that the workflow would be? E.g. they are at equipment/asset X already and then want to see this information, or is it a different workflow they’re thinking of?
In short, I believe that exposing this information on the asset makes a lot of sense. I’ll convert it to a product idea.
An example for this would be an operator performing equipment rounds. They observe a leak and material build-up around an agitator seal. They will write this as an observation and take a picture. Later when someone is searching for that asset to pull up some history, that observation and picture are available in the CDF search, with the timestamp they were created.
