Judson Jacobs, Managing Director in IHS Markit’s Energy and Natural Resources division
Judson Jacobs is a Managing Director in IHS Markit’s Energy and Natural Resources division, leading its Technology and Innovation practice. In this role, he studies the strategic implications and tactical applications of traditional and digital technologies across the energy value chain. Key research and project themes include the decarbonization of the oil and gas sector, digital transformation to drive step changes in industry efficiency and performance, and expanding innovation models to source key technology advances. Prior to joining IHS Markit through its acquisition of Cambridge Energy Research Associates, Mr. Jacobs worked as a management consultant with the Mitchell Madison Group and held senior engineering positions with Schlumberger and Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. He holds a BSE from Princeton University and an MS from Stanford University.
Dr. Francois Laborie, President, Cognite North America
Francois is President of Cognite North America, overseeing Cognite’s expansion and operations in the US and Canada. Francois has had an extensive career in the technology industry, serving in both research and executive roles. Before leading Cognite North America, Francois managed Cognite’s overall product and marketing activities and the Cognite alliance and partner strategy, as CMO.
Prior to Cognite, Francois was at the heart of the transformation of the media industry’s technology transformation. He has spent 11 years as COO of the software company Vizrt, where he supported the global adoption of innovative visual technology and storytelling tools that revolutionized broadcast production. Before that, Francois managed research projects at the intersection of technology and engineering for Airbus Group. Francois has master’s degrees in computer science and engineering from the National Institute of Applied Sciences and a Ph.D. from the Toulouse Computer Science Research Institute.
