At Cognite, we are committed to continually enhancing the Data Modeling capabilities in the Cognite Data Fusion (CDF) platform while minimizing disruptions for our clients and users. However, we regret to inform you that a recent update in the Data Modeling API has broken older versions of the Python SDK. Specifically, the method used to list views, now it works exclusively in the latest versions of the SDK.To ensure seamless integration and uninterrupted usage of our platform, we strongly recommend all users to upgrade to the most recent version of the Python SDK, with a minimum requirement of version 7.37.0.We want to reassure our users that this change does not affect any functionalities within the SDK itself. Your existing workflows and applications should continue to operate as expected.Should you have any inquiries or require assistance, please feel free to reach out to Cognite Support. We're here to help!Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we strive to prov
Hi Team, I have a dataset consisting of Timeseries, Assets, Files and Sequences in one tenant. I wanted to export this dataset into another tenant. Is it possible for exporting the whole dataset as a zip file and then importing to the other. Or is there any other method specified by CDF for the same .
When using Data Explorer, if you click on an Asset, that branch will expand, and others will minimize. Sometimes I want to be able to switch between similar Assets that are in different hierarchies (Example being two different lines in a plant, or two different facilities). The current behavior is that if you click on an Asset all other asset trees will be minimized. Even if you manually expanded other hierarchies/trees, clicking an asset will reset the view.Would be nice to either have an option (checkbox) to auto-minimize or change this default behavior. Example Tree:Plant 1: Tank1 Mixer1 Press Plant 2: Press Mixer Oven Tank If I were to click on Plant1>Tank1, all of Plant 2 would get minimized. If I were to expand plant 2 manually then click on Plant1>Tank1, again then Plant 2 would once again get minimized. Ideally I’d like for Plant 2 to stay expanded until I manually minimized it.
As a user I want to be able to filter workorders by discipline so that I am easily able to identify workorders which are related to one specific type of work. As a user I would like to search work orders based on specific values in the SAP data (e.g. Task list usage = SCE) to get exact the list I am looking for.
The recently released version `7.37.0` of the Python-SDK which pygen depends on broke pygen. This is fixed in `0.99.20`. For versions before 0.99.20 you will be met with `ImportError: cannot import name 'ListablePropertyType' ...` when you try to generate an SDK.
Doing the ‘hands-on’ for Data Engineer Basics - “Learn to Use the Cognite Python SDK “ Course."I am down to adding events to CDF from events.csv.I noted that the dataframe df has some entries :NaN” wherever the csv has a blank. Then,However, creating events in CDF fails:the error is: Next, I replace all the csv blank entries with text “blank”, and read into a dataframe. Now the latter does not have any “NaN” values. This throws the same exception when creating events in CDF.If someone can kindly assist, I would be very grateful.Thank you,Doug
Doing the ‘hands-on’ for Data Engineer Basics - “Learn to Use the Cognite Python SDK “ Course."I have done the following:Make a dataframe from reading from a csv file: One of the columns in the csv file is ‘region’. The 5 different values in the region column are When the above code is run, the following appears on the screen: Q1. Does this mean pandas has interpreted the region “None” as “nan”? If so that would explain why the following code throws “ValueError: Out of range float values are not JSON compliant. Make sure your data does not contain NaN(s) or +/- Inf!” I would value your guidance as I have not worked with pandas() much at all.Thank you,Doug
Hi everyone, I would like to know if there are timeout restrictions for functions, as I've been executing a function that reads data from a RAWs table in batches, and since there are many records (1M), it takes up to 10 minutes and I get a timeout error. Is there a way to configure this restriction? Running the same function code on a local machine takes around 2 or 3 hours. Hi, I’m doing the Learn to Use the Cognite Python SDK module in the Data Scientist basics seems incorrect. For example, I’m in the notebook `2_List_Search_Retrieve.ipynb` and the data presented appears to be very random, and not industrial data. When I run a query like:`c.assets.list(metadata={'ELC_STATUS_ID': '1211'},limit=5)` this comes back empty because there is no industrial data in any of the the datasets. In fact, almost all of the datsets in the c.data_sets.list() command are Deprecated and archived. It looks to me like potentially the datasets are tests that people have made. I would really like to be able to see some more realistic data in the dataset used for exploring the tool. Please let me know how I can do that, if anyone knows!
Hi, everyoneI'm trying to load sequences using Python SDK by inserting dataframes. In the dataframe, I have some columns with NaN and numeric values. Dataframe: and when loading NaN values, they are uploaded as 'null'. I've tried replacing them with empty strings, but due to the column definitions, if I have numeric values, the column's data type must be Double or Long, and conflicts arise when encountering empty strings. This is the code to load a sequence: Results in CDF using Python SDK: However, when loading the sequence via DB-Extractor, empty strings are uploaded as such and not as 'null' Is there any way to load via SDK so that NaN values are uploaded as empty and not 'null'? Hi Everyone!, My name is Carlos Herrera, I’m joining Cognite this week as a Technical Account Manager based out of Houston in US with the Customer Success team. I’m extremely excited to be here and I’m ready to understand and learn everything about CDF!!
On behalf of Celanese Clear Lake InField super usres:When creating/editing a template in InField, I would like the ability to choose where my new line item is added in my checklist. This is especially important when editing existing templates that could have hundreds of line items. InField by default creates the new item at the bottom of the checklist and I would then have to click and drag the item where I would like it to be. This process is very time consuming and tedious. If instead, I am able to insert new items anywhere within my checklist it would save so much more time.
Hi, I’m doing the data science modules, I’m on Notebook 2 (List/Search/Retrieve) and I note that when I use the LabelFilter on the assets, I find a number of assets with a label called ‘COLD’. However, when I do c.labels.list (limit=None), I get only 4 labels and none of them match the ‘COLD’ label. Are labels for assets different from labels that are found using c.labels.list?
On behalf of Celanese CDF super users:CDF currently limits PDF searching to 50 pages maximum. Scanned historical records are often 300+ Pages. The PDF's also load unacceptably slow. Users are forced to use source systems to access these files rather than CDF or Infield due to these limitations.
On behalf of Celanese InField super users:I would like the ability to archive and delete unwanted checklists in InField 2.0. Currently, InField 2.0 only supports the ability to delete templates but not checklists. The only option we are given is to mark checklists as “done”. However, if this is added, it must be limited by access permissions as we do not need all users to have the ability to delete checklists.
@Ragnhild Byrkjeland, @perolssoen, and @Christopher Tannum After using the new scene functionality in CDF, there are several things that I like about the application but also am experiencing some challenges that I believe need to be addressed before we can get end users to leverage the application:the asset layer seems to take a while to load on the backend. Not sure if there’s a way to set this up to load faster? once assets are loaded, the pop-up window that shows the contextualized information is very glitchy - rendering it almost un-useable In general it doesn’t seem like the asset overlay is very reactive to a click of the mouse, but more of a hover over which seems less intuitive for end users It would be great to have a speed slider - like the one that was present in remote - to fine-tune the navigation. This will be particularly helpful when we bring in our subsea models into the scene It would be great if we could set certain attributes to default to be toggled “off” when firs
In a solution data model, it would be useful to be able to synthetically calculate a value, or time series values based on attributes / time series of an instance. For instance, return the maximum value across several temperature measurements on a generator. Would it be possible to implement the opportunity to allow a data model field to contain synthetic time series, charts / INDSL functions, or even custom python functions?
When data is downloaded in CSV format, the time stamp format is not as detailed and we would like the timestamp format to match the output format when it is retrieved from API, which is like 2024-04-14 10:08:19.115000-05:00
Users would like to have a setting to enable/disable updates to the files/documents that are attached to a Canvas. If update to files is enabled, the owner of the Canvas should receive a prompt at their next access to the Canvas, if an file/document is available in CDF, so they can decide whether to update or not to update (permanently or decide later), depending on the use case of Canvas.
Hi, EveryoneHow can sum several time series? For example:Times series # 1Times series #2How can sum these time series if the filter just taking one id ts{id=001}Regards, Liliana Sierra@Aditya Kotiyal @HanishSharma @Jason Dressel @Jairo Salaya
Exploring Cognite CDF
Hello Community Members,I am delighted to announce that from today, the Cognite Python SDK now has support for Time Series Data Quality Status codes.Using the SDK, you may retrieve data points including their status codes, and filter on status codes if desired. You may also insert data points with status codes. For a full description of all the methods and functionality, please refer to the Python SDK Documentation and our Developer DocumentationWhilst this functionality remains in Beta maturity, we are targeting the upcoming June release for General Availability. Cognite relies on customer feedback as key part of its product maturation process, and customers are warmly encouraged to begin implementation of support for data quality status codes and to provide the valuable feedback necessary to allow us to make this feature Generally Available.Thank you for your continued support! Users may need to make adjustments in a certain numbers of Templates and it will be good to have an option to select multiple templates on a list and change the status to Ready. This will improve the user experience, by reducing the clicks to execute an action and saving time to operate multiple templates.
Hello,Working heavily with CDF, I often have to switch between various screens including Charts, Data Explorer etc. Currently, I need to click on the tab and wait for it to load to see what page it is since the titles of the page are not displayed in the tab header. Except for CDF Charts and Data Catalog, for which page titles are correctly configured, other CDF pages have only a generic title ('Cognite Data Fusion'). This includes Data Explorer, RAW Explorer, Data Model. You can check the video attached to issue 10886 for a video of the Edge browser with vertical tabs so that you can see what I am talking about. I would have loved to attach it here but there is no functionlity to allow me to do so.
