help with cdf Relationship resource type

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

I am trying to establish Parent-Child relationships between two types of events ingested and transformed in CDF which are Workorders and Maintenance Notifications. I have two different datasets for each where the Raw data is staged and have also given corresponding labels (Work_order, Notification) for dataset and later these workorders and Maintenance notifications are linked to Assets in CDF using transformations. Now I need to establish the relationship between the workorders and Maintenance notifications.

Although I went through the Documentation for relationship ( Relationships | Cognite Documentation) not able to get the hold of it. Any reference SQL for how relationships are established would also do.

Hi Visawnadah,

We have subject matter experts who should be able to answer your direct question, but I’m curious to know if you’ve also considered using our newer Data Modelling APIs to create the model you’re working on?

Our internal team that develops our Maintain application use this today for the type of use case you’re creating, and soon we will even have a standard, out of the box template for work orders in our Data Modelling service in the coming weeks.

Creation of relationships between your modelled entities is more straightforward in this service, using edges, and the functionality is richer than using Assets plus Relationships APIs.

Here’s a link to read up on it, if you haven’t already.  https://developer.cognite.com/dm/

If you have disqualified this option already, it would be valuable insight for us to understand why.

Kind Regards, Glen

Hi @Viswanadha Sai Akhil Pujyam, would you be able to let us know whether you tried the option Glen suggested?
