Cognite recently run a 4-week project (Dec-Jan 2024) with typical ocean geospatial data (Emodnet Human Activities as a datasource), so that should be a relevant demonstrator for simple and more advanced geospatial capabilities.
I have the same question, but for underwater videos
Hi, I used to work in DNV for 22 years and know that they have significant competence in this domain. Suggest to contact them 😉https://www.dnv.com/services/control-and-automation-systems-and-software-2681
Thanks, let’s find time in January.
We provided data and challenges to the Microsoft Climate Hackathon a week back. Have a look at the summary video with a lot of creativity in the solution space “on top” of the Ocean Data Platform.Climate Hackathon 2022: Hack the climate for a sustainable future - Devpost
Great to get geospatial support in CDF! Are some of the following topics going to be covered in the release webinar or associated tech-docs?Transforming large scale geospatial datasets (example: 4 billion “5D” observations or more per dataset) from e.g. files (NetCDF) to geospatial feature types using out-of-the box CDF extraction and transformation components Controlling access to open or closed geospatial datasets coming from multiple providers (feature types) Trace data lineage and ensure data integrity of geospatial data through CDF Data Sets Contextualize geospatial data by building relations to other data resource types, e.g. asset hierarchies (sensor platforms and sensor tags) or time series derived from geospatial
There is a lot of historic, real-time and modeled/simulated ocean data out there, so I hope to see that upcoming ocean industries (wind, deepwater aquaculture, seaweed etc) become more transparent on the environmental impact and how they balance ocean wealth with ocean health. We are piloting various “digital site assessment” solutions together with various science, regulatory and industrial partners of C4IR Ocean.Just wanted to share the latest progress in the Ocean Data Platform after great collaboration with the Cognite Engineering teams related to geospatial support and tiling services in CDF for the past few months. It will be cool when we can unlock tens of thousands of open and closed datasets through APIs, SDKs, web map services and more. Here’s an example with some of the Norwegian wind assessment areas currently being developed.
@Nils Barlaug Here’s the repo my colleague Tara will use on the EiT-sessiin next Wednesday.https://github.com/C4IROcean/OceanDataConnectorThe repo is deployed in a JupyterHub/Dask-environment
Hi Nils! We’re joining the kick-off meeting with NTNU on 19th Jan. My colleague Tara Baris will present some of the data and potential use-cases in the Ocean Data Platform.
Here is a link to the webinar where we had a live demo.https://ops-sjomat.no/arrangementer/webinar-om-neste-versjon-av-lusedata/We will also present at Lusekonferansen in Trondheim in January. Funny name by the way…https://www.fhf.no/arrangementer/arrangementer/lusekonferansen-2022/I believe there are many business synergies between these use-case and energy effiency in aquaculture.
All the ocean sensor platforms waiting to be connected to CDF…
The ambition level of the Ocean Data Platform (leveraging CDF) is to become the world’s most important data collaboration hub, advancing both ocean health and wealth. In order to get there, we want to set up data pipelines from for instance Ocean-Ops, the “ocean sensor devops hub” for more than 8200 gliders (like the Argo-floats), research vessels, surface gliders, data buoys and more. We know them very well due to our close partnership and collaboration with UN UNESCO and the Intergovermental Oceanographic Commission.https://www.ocean-ops.org/boardWhen we add domain specific SDKs on top of CDF APIs, we’ll have a quite unique innovation platform where tens of thousands of ocean passionate scientists and marine spatial planners can build data driven insight. If you provide geospatial support in CDF Templates it might be easier to build data models that connect billions of geospatial observation points (physics, biodiversity, pollution, human impact etc.) with tens of thousands of ocean s
Hi all, my name is Jo and I am the CTO in C4IR Ocean (a collaboration between Aker and the World Economic Forum). We are building the Ocean Data Platform leveraging Cognite Data Fusion. Right now we are really looking forward to the new geospatial APIs in CDF. This is crucial for many of our use-cases within ocean sustainability. For instance, we have «planetary scale» datasets for ocean physics, biodiversity, regions and much more. Some of the datasets have up to 4 billion observations varying in a 5D space like latitude, longitude, depth, time and variable. The new CDF geospatial capabilities are awesome even though it is still in an early phase. You can read more about us at www.c4irocean.earth.Btw, we also made this cool PoC in collaboration with Microsoft and Cognite……real time emission trending of 250000 ships.https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/ai/ai-for-earth-ocean-data-platform
