Yup that makes sense ! this is something thats already a part of the new monitoring in charts solution we are building so we hope that will solve this problem in the long run.
Hello thanks again for this feedback on the monitoring solution called AIR that we have today. We have been working on maturing AIR into a more mature product that is a part of CDF and one of the major improvements is the latency time between alerts and the emails being sent out. So stay tuned for more updates!
Hei thanks again for your feedback on this ! Yes it should alert in that situation. Basically that parameter is just the threshold value and the backend checks if an alert lasts for atleast one minute and then sends out an alert. I will ask the team to look into this on the backend side to make sure things are in order. Do you have the correct CDF groups setup ?
Hei @nabanitakar Thanks again for reaching out regarding this. With regards to AIR it is being matured as a more robust and scalable service within CDF the first iteration of which will be through Charts. With regards to your use case i would recommend writing a cognite function that generates a time series as output based on the out put of your forecasting model on a schedule say 5 mins. I would then read that time series in charts and setup a monitoring job. However please note that monitoring and alerting is still in beta and only avaailble for early adopter customers so i would recommend reaching out your customer success person to help with setting this up for your project.
Fantastic glad to have got this working for you ! 😁
Hi, Irie. Thanks again for getting in touch with us and apologies for the delayed response on our end vacation times in june / july can be quite hectic 😅. As mentioned by @Knut Vidvei earlier we have recognized the need for the feature by our users but we are still working on implementing user settings and profiles within CDF as a whole. We have started to make progress on that end but not at a stage where this feature can be enabled at the moment. We understand the importance and real need for this feature but we believe that this has to be a user setting and something that is quite flexible instead of a local solution in charts. As a result unfortunately the feature is still postponed until user profiles are in place and we really hope to solve this issue for you in the very near future. Yours sincerely Arun Kaashyap Arunachalam
Hei @jaydeep thanks again for your question on this. We have plans for extending the alerting to event based data as well as advanced models in the future. Since most of our use cases that we have seen is thresholding we are focusing on that currently but will be moving towards more advanced forms of alerting in the future.
Hei @Marcela Young this feature request has been made a part of the backlog. But has not been picked up yet for execution as we have to do some technical evaluations on our end so that it aligns with the collaborative experience we would like to have within all our experiences in CDF. So i apologize if there was a confusion in the communication there. We are currently working on getting some critical fixes / improvements in the monitoring and charts experience before we can work on improving the collaborative experiences in Charts. We do have plans to improve this experience in monitoring with commenting functionalities in the months to come so it would make a lot of sense to tackle this need then as well.
Hei marcela thanks again for the great request ! would this be the same as putting up a flag at a given point in the time series and seeing the current values at that point as well as annotating it as a event ? Something that is possible in other industry tools today like PI ?
This has been released now ! @Marcela Young
This is fantastic feedback @Marcela Young we are looking into this in the product side to allow users to be able to set the default behaviour on missing data. It is something we are aware off and would like to solve in the near future. Please stay tuned for more information as we work on some concepts and ideas to solve this problem.
Thanks a lot for the great feedback with respect to this. We are currently working on adding the in between thresholds functionality and have the outside range one in the roadmap for the months to come. What other models would be potentially useful in this regard ?
Thanks again for reaching out with regards to this feature. This is being worked on now as we speak and should be out in the march release so stay tuned.
This is being worked on now and will be released as a part of the feb release ! please stay tuned for more updates from our end on this regard.
Apologies i meant to say the march release as that is when the next official release of CDF with new features will be in place.
Hei hei thanks again for the great feedback on this ! Would this be a matter of having a batch example in the background of a current time in chart to visually compare and see how you are doing ?
Thanks again for this feedback and apologies for the inconvenience is the issue at hand that the first click doesnt register when you are trying to add a calculation in ?
Hei hei Unfortunately as of today there is not a way to edit scheduled calculations so you would need to delete and recreate them. We do have this in the roadmap in the months to come.
Hei hei Unfortunately there is no granular control on the exact time to set a calculation as of today but the time that you set it is when it starts to run. I have added this in the roadmap as a small improvement on the scheduled calculations functionality.
Hei hei thanks for the great feedback on this. The goal for the product team is to tackle the ability to templatize charts and be able to create charts for data models eg you create a charts template and then apply to all your pumps in Q3 of this year. We believe that once we have that in place it would be a perfect time to tackle the issue of folder in Charts.
Sorry for the late reply on my end release schedule has been hectic. So we have lowered the significant digits from the previous number to a much lower number of 6 this should be much easier to view and use. Please try this and let us know if this works for your use cases? We wanted to start with a lower hardcoded value before we build out a user setting for this if that makes sense.
Is this still an issue ? Any new alerts generated should have the link to the email unless its an old alert that was generated before this linking was done. try recreating a monitoring job to fix this issue.
The markers functionality is now available in Charts. Please look for the button called slider to use this feature.
This has been implemented and is now available in production.
A first version of this is now available. We have now added the ability to create markers on certain time stamps in Charts with annotations being a small improvement that will be worked on in the months to come on.
