I am busy with Cognite Training:Data Engineer Basics > Python SDK Transformations (Hands On)I have completed the ‘1. Environment setup’ without any problems. At the end of that, I have a variable defined However, the next step is to create the database in CDF:This gives the error, which looks like an access error: CogniteAPIError: Unauthorized | code: 401 Please could someone advise me what is to be done to correct?Thank you.Doug
This post is pursuant to “Postman does not work properly after authorization”.I have begun the module:Followed the steps in the instructions.Environment variables: Authorization was updated: Then, to test, I went: Cognite API collection > "Assets" folder > "List assets" > SendThis gives Error - different to that in post “Postman does not work properly after authorization” - Next, I try to list the timeseries data: timeseries > list time series > Send. Whereas in post “Postman does not work properly after authorization”, I got back data, now I get Q1. Please could someone help me get around this?Thank you for your support. Regards,Doug
Busy with training module:Data Engineer Basics - Transform and Contextualize > CDF Transformations > Assets transformationI have the following SQL: The Preview works: But, doing Run, leads to an error. So, of course the NULL in the 1st row above ought to be “ “ for the root asset.Q1. How do I test for NULL and set NULL value to “ ” in the Spark SQL query?Thank you!Regards,Doug
I have begun the module: I followed instructions down to setting the environment variables:Then, authorization was updated: Get New Access Token is successful. Use Token clicked Then, to test, I went: Cognite API collection > "Assets" folder > "List assets" > SendThis gives Error: So, I deselect “minCreatedTime” parameter. (THERE IS NOTHING in the documentation that talks about this.) The, press “Send” again. But then get this error when testing:So, deselect “maxCreatedTime” , and progressively deselect minLastUpdatedTime; maxLastUpdatedTime as indicated by error messages. Finally, Gives the error: Therefore, my attempt to list the assets in the CDF project has failed. Next, I try to list the timeseries data: timeseries > list time series > SendTry deselecting all the query parameters > Send This time there is a listing of timeseries: My questions:Q1. Why can I not list assets?Q2. Why can I list timeseries, but not assets? Thank you for your support. Regards,Dou
Doing the ‘hands-on’ for Data Engineer Basics - “Learn to Use the Cognite Python SDK “ Course."I am down to adding labels to assets. The code fails at the last line above with the error:CogniteAPIError: Type definitions deleted: {externalId: cold-countries}. | code: 400 | X-Request-ID: 50b63199-cac6-9ab3-99ac-3b6ac768ecce Please can someone explain:what does this error mean? what can be done to eliminate the errorThank you.Doug
Doing the ‘hands-on’ for Data Engineer Basics - “Learn to Use the Cognite Python SDK “ Course."I am down to adding events to CDF from events.csv.I noted that the dataframe df has some entries :NaN” wherever the csv has a blank. Then,However, creating events in CDF fails:the error is: Next, I replace all the csv blank entries with text “blank”, and read into a dataframe. Now the latter does not have any “NaN” values. This throws the same exception when creating events in CDF.If someone can kindly assist, I would be very grateful.Thank you,Doug
Doing the ‘hands-on’ for Data Engineer Basics - “Learn to Use the Cognite Python SDK “ Course."I have done the following:Make a dataframe from reading from a csv file: One of the columns in the csv file is ‘region’. The 5 different values in the region column are When the above code is run, the following appears on the screen: Q1. Does this mean pandas has interpreted the region “None” as “nan”? If so that would explain why the following code throws “ValueError: Out of range float values are not JSON compliant. Make sure your data does not contain NaN(s) or +/- Inf!” I would value your guidance as I have not worked with pandas() much at all.Thank you,Doug

Doing the ‘hands-on’ for Data Engineer Basics - “Learn to Use the Cognite Python SDK “ Course."The instructions said “Make sure that the data set is write-protected”. So I had under Step 1:I then ran without error:That was YESTERDAY.TODAY, the 2nd block of commands threw an error: “CogniteAPIError: Resource not found. This may also be due to insufficient access rights. | code: 403 | X-Request-ID: f9083e61-8310-9462-9fb6-69f8da1299f3”So, after trying this and that, I changed the generated data_set to write protected = False in the 1st block of code above. --- > The 2nd block of commands now works, just like YESTERDAY. Q1. Why did ‘write protected = True’ work YESTERDAY, but not TODAY, giving Error 403?Q2. Why does ‘write protected = False’ work, but not ‘write protected = True’ , TODAY, that is?From where does this inconsistency come? Someone?Thank you!Douglas
