Has there been progress on GIS integration, specifically an ArcGIS extractor? This has come up twice with recently and I’d like to know what’s available or if it’s something that might be available soon.
Are these improvements being released as Beta or as production features? Is Canvas out of Beta?
This all seems possible with Functions. The question, as I see it, is how to make this functionality more accessible to people who don’t have the coding skills to write a function.
The response was accurate. Not terribly satisfied that the answer was to go submit a product idea.
This is strange. It runs on Jupyter Notebook. It runs on Python on my corp Windows laptop. It fails on the Raspberry Pi that I want to run it on, since that doesn’t get shut off every night. Is there possibly a Windows vs Unix (case sensitivity?) issue? Anyway, my immediate need has passed so there’s no urgency in solving this mystery
Thanks. This looks promising How do I find my tenant_id? Does this assume it’s AzureAD? We’re not using that.
Not just best practice - if you want a timeseries to be visible in Charts, it needs an externalId
No urgency on this. I removed the TS and recreated them. It would be nice if the docs had an example likets = cdf_client.time_series.create(TimeSeries(name=tsname, data_set_id=dataset, external_id=tsname))
Great! But how? It’s reasonably clear how to put these on the Canvas, but not clear how to relate them and use them together. An detailed example of one of the scenarios listed above would be most helpful.
The Canvas sounds exciting. I poked around on it now that it’s available, but I can’t figure out what I can do with it. Are there any tutorials, documentation, use cases, or examples? I realize it’s in preview, but I can’t figure out how someone would use it and what they’d be able to accomplish.
The PI event frames appear to be available in a SQL database. Has anyone used the SQL extractor to retrieve event frames from PI AF?
We should probably discuss the details in a more private forum.
Ideally, it would work like Grafana does. You set a refresh interval from off to 5 sec to 1 day. And, you set the time frame from last 5 min to last 5 years.
Yes, and to scroll the chart to keep it with the current date/time in view on the right. Thanks
I haven’t seen a request for this, but perhaps I’ve missed it. And, perhaps there is already a way to do this - I’m fairly new to Charts. We have customers who want to have the ability to put up a chart and not touch it and see it update and scroll as time passes. Grafana has some nice features to allow a user to set the update frequency - this is to request is to bring this kind of functionality to Charts.
What’s the relationship between data models created using FDM and Assets? Will everything be created as an Asset type or is there are new data types that match the model?I can build data models and I understand how that works, but I’m unclear on how I populate a data model. Are there instructions on how to do this?Suppose I have 2 data models that both include an equipment class. When I create an instance of equipment, will it contain properties from both equipment classes? Or, do I create two equipment instances and relate them somehow? How does entity matching work with flexible data models?
Thanks for your quick response.About editing posts. I didn’t see the UI for doing it. I will use this post to try again 😀(short time later. I didn’t see the … in the lower righthand corner that lets me edit. Thanks again)
I don’t see how to edit my post, but it’s funny. I now see it telling me which field is wrong (externalid) and it needs to be string. Also, I googled for SQL Cast and found that I need to usecast (id as string)and not cast(id, string)Still, it would be nice to see this documented here.
