Industrial Canvas is the digital workspace for data-driven planning, collaborative data analysis, troubleshooting, support for root cause analysis, operational insights, work pack preparation and even collaborative maintenance planning.

It gives industrial teams simple access to complex industrial data, in their language and on their terms.

This first-of-its-kind experience for industry allows experts to go from cumbersome manual workflows to a visual, collaborative interface powered by contextualized data and artificial intelligence.

With Industrial Canvas, Cognite Data Fusion provides a blank canvas for subject matter experts to creatively think, build, and work with industrial data from all sources.

Here are a few examples of what you can solve in a canvas by working collaboratively across several data types:

  • Pulling in all the relevant data when performing a root cause analysis on an anomaly such as loss of containment in a compressor.
  • I got a well failure, now I can extracted all the relevant data, in the canvas, and understand what is happening.
  • Investigate single noise issues, vibrations, failures etc.
  • Create process mapping, from where it breaks to the execution. Easily create and visualise the workflows.
  • I got a loss of containment for this pipe. Now I can isolate the boundaries, check when was inspected the pipe, see the work orders, what is the severity of the incident etc. And finally create a report based on my findings.

And many more. Any type of data analysis can be achieved in a canvas as you can work across all your data types and easily collaborate with fellow colleagues across disciplines.

Great! But how? It’s reasonably clear how to put these on the Canvas, but not clear how to relate them and use them together. An detailed example of one of the scenarios listed above would be most helpful.

We will soon create examples as well and share them here. But until then, I’m happy to set up a call with you an go through some examples.
