Hi Andrew!Thank you for bringing this feature request to our attention! We will follow the traction this request gets. Best, Sofie, Product Manager of Explore
Hi @tibor.vancza, I appreciate your feedback! We are currently evolving this landing page, based on the usage patterns we see. We want to make the landing page more dynamic so that you see what you care about - and can reach it with minimum number of clicks. I’ll be making an update during Q4 with new development and plans!
Hi @Andrew West!Again, thanks for taking the time to provide feedback - we greatly appreciate it.In the latest release, we ensured to add the ability to adjust the width of the resource selector, as you suggested.
This request fits well with ongoing work on enabling site configuration for use across the Cognite portfolio of user interfaces. We are happy to set up a call to share our thinking and better understand the need seen by the customer.
Hi Marcela! We have followed up on this request, and ability to search for and find Power BI dashboards (and e.g Grafana dashboards) through Data Exploration is listed in our external roadmap for Q1 2024. Ability to embed/create a collection of embedded dashboards is also in our external roadmap, for Q2/Q3 2024.
Hi @Christoph! Just wanted to check in on this topic and let you know that ability to deep link is on our roadmap, and something we are working towards enabling across the Cognite portfolio. I can not give an exact date right now, but be ensured we have this captured :)
Hi! We wanted to come with a short update. We are currently working on a data exploration experience with the business/Subject matter expert user in focus, where our goal is to abstract away the “IT language”. We will be needing several iterations to nail this, and engaging in user testing across the customer base. An update on the status will be shared in October release.
Hi @ibrahim.alsyed . In the new business/SME user focused data exploration under development and testing with you and your team, the option to define default columns and order of these (properties) is possible from data modelling setup side. We are also exploring if/how users can edit these themselves, as the feedback we have gained so far strongly favors the option to customize the view. We keep in touch on the topic during biweekly sessions.
Hi! Wanted to jump in and provide an update. First version of the concept of a “site”/location has been implemented and tested over the last 2 months. Based on feedback from testing, we are moving forward with this concept and will support site/location (and n level of selections below site/location). We are working on the architecture for this and will ensure to communicate ones ready for use. Until then, selected Cognite products have the option to select site; the APM business applications and the new business/SME targeted data explorer.
Hi @Willem Meijer ! I’m the product manager for the Data Explorer, and have some follow up questions!Do I understand your request correctly as you would like in the details page a list of all asset-to-asset relationships for the specific asset you are looking at? And you would like this instead of clicking on the asset, navigating to the “Assets” tab for associated assets and choose “filter by Relationships”?
Hi @Benjamin Medbøen !The Asset Hierarchy in the Explorer is showing you the position of the current asset you are viewing in context of the total hierarchy it is part of. This is why you will see your selected assets, and have the ability to find children of it at the same time as seeing its parent asset(s).
Hey María! Thank you for this request. Noted, and we will evaluate it in the team.
I see, @Willem Meijer! Thank you! I’ll bring this use case back to the team and keep it in mind, but unfortunately, I do not see implementing this as something we can prioritise on our roadmap today. Some context from our side as to why I do not see this as a simple request; The number of asset-to-asset relationships across our customer base is often very high. Much greater than the number you would be able to present in a logical way if showing it flat as rows/metadata fields on the details page. These asset-to-asset relationships are not stored as metadata today (at least not by default). If displaying them on the details page, that would be to create a new section for this specific type of data, while it is available two clicks away in the related assets tab - select relationships. I do want to note that we appreciate the feedback, and I’m sorry we can not meet your expectation on this request. I do however hope you will continue to feed us with questions and requests! Best, Sofie Ber
Hi @Andrew West ! Wanted to check back in with you and let you know that as suggested, you can find labels as common filters on assets and files in the Explorer. Best, Sofie, Product Manager of Explore
Hi @Christoph ! We have now scheduled this functionality for December release in the new searching experience (which is made available in Beta state now in October, see info here “Enhanced Data Exploration”). Best, Sofie, Product Manager
Hi @Marcela Young ! We are enabling this functionality in the new searching experience/FDX (successor of Remote) for the next release, in December. Looking forward to getting the feedback from you in Celanese when it is available!Best, Sofie, Product Manager
Hi @Peter Quinn !Thank you for raising this. We’ve had discussions around this quite a few times I’ll tell you! Unfortunately I can not give you a timeline at this point, but I’m bringing it with me into prioritization discussions as a topic for improved overall user experience across the portfolio. Best, Sofie Berge, Lead Product Manager End User Experience
Hei @Kristian Nymoen !Thanks for sharing this feature suggestion with us. I’ll monitor interest for this across our customers. Best, Sofie, Lead Product Manager of End user experience
Hi @Oussama ALLALI !Thank you for providing this feedback. We fully understand that it would be less cumbersome to have the “open in new tab” option, and have therefore added this to our roadmap. Will let you know ones it is developed and shipped! Best, Sofie Berge, Product Manager
Hi @Kristian Nymoen !Thank you for sharing this suggestion with us! We have taken some time to discuss this request. As updated by Anita, we will continue to monitor interest around this topic. Best, Sofie, Product Manager
Hi again, @Christoph !We are now excited to share that this functionality will be available in the new industrial Search experience as of Jan 9th (release date). On the landing page of fusion.cognite.com, you will be able to try the new Searching experience: .. and you can then go directly to browsing in 3D and be able to copy url to exact position in 3D to use for deep linking or sharing with your colleagues. For this functionality to work, some configurations are needed. A concept of 3D scenes need to be set up for your organization. I’ll make sure to reach out to your account responsible. Best, Sofie, Product Manager End user experience
Hi again @Marcela Young . This functionality is developed, and will be available on release date Jan 9th. We have enabled opening related files directly on top of 3D, like hotspotted P&IDs. Best, Sofie, Product Manager
Yes, @Marcela Young - the team har started this work in Search/FDX, and expect it to be released/made available in the next product release, March 5th.
Hi @crgomez13 !Thank you for this feedback! I fully agree with you on this need. We have added this to our roadmap, and will update you when a timeline. Best, Sofie, Product Manager (Data Exploration, FDX/Search)
Hi @Hussain Mubaireek!Thank you for reaching out with this feedback and suggestions. The use of defined date fields vs metadata fields, and what that means for the behaviour in the front end, is something we should document better. Thank you for raising this!Ability to select time zone is something we have received some feedback about, but it is not on our immediate roadmap. I’ll leave this topic in gathering interest, and will get back to you if priorities change!Best, Sofie, Lead Product Manager end user experience.
