Introduction to API v1 using Postman - cannot import link

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

I am working on the Data Scientist Basics: Introduction to API v1 using Postman module. I have downloaded Postman, but when I go to do Step 1: Import, I only get permission to do a cURL import. It’s prompting me to sign up for an account in order to be able to import with just a link.

How can I best proceed? I do not have permission through my work to create an account at the moment. Do I need to pursue getting an account, or is there a specific structure to the cURL command to get it to import in the same way? I am having trouble doing that.

Yeah it looks like the Collections feature is blocked behind creating and using a Postman account. Check out the blue bar at the top:

@Caroline M Fox you can use the link below to import the latest API V1 Postman collection. Please refer to the documentation here for more information.

Hi @Mithila Jayalath External, the link itself is not my issue, it’s the UI options - I don’t have the option to import with only a link. I don’t see the same thing as what the documentation shows. There is no Input > Link tab. I see the image I posted in my first post, and then when I add just the URL, I get this:

I have tried to do a basic cURL Get request, but that doesn’t import the data correctly.

I think the issue is the prerequisites to get permission to use Postman. I am asking at my company if I need IT to grant me access.

Hey @Caroline M Fox

I just downloaded the latest version of Postman. Here it is blank:

Then I select Import at the top in My Workspaces:

When I paste the url from @Mithila Jayalath External it immediately starts importing the collections. You can see the messages at the bottom of the window:

What version of Postman are you using?

@Ben Petree, I am using Postman v11.5.0. Are you signed in? I am unable to sign in/create an account because of my company’s computer security, so I think the Postman functionality is limited.
