Hi Ben,this is most likely happening because DirectQuery is lacking support for DB cursors. Those are not required for PowerBi that’s why the feature wasn’t prioritized so far.Any chance that you could turn of the cursors in the client?
@Ben Brandt hmm we have tested it with pgAdmin, what version doo you have?
@Ben Brandt I tried that version and I experience the same issue, would it be possible for you to downgrade to v5.4?This is the one I tested and it seemed to work:https://pgadmin-archive.postgresql.org/pgadmin4/v5.7/index.htmlIf it’s something that you find useful we can the see what we should improve to support newer versions.
@Ben Brandt this is unfortunate that we have different names for the same thing, however I don’t think it’s feasible to do at this point as it would introduce a breaking change,It should, however, be possible to alias the column in PostgreSQL gateway while selecting it?
@Ben Brandt exactly! We don’t support cross-table queries, apart from some exceptions.Very good reverse engineering on your side :)
Hi Espen,As far as we know, there is no easy way to granularly control time parameters in the connector or/and in Grafana in general, unfortunately.A possible workaround can be a Cognite function to calculate such things and write it to a new time series.
Hi,@Mitul Nikunjkumar Gandhi Spotfire OData integration is currently not supported due to to the lack of OIDC authentication support by Spotfire app.
Hi,Can you clarify what exactly would you like to visualize? Is it to find and then display a time series in the asset hierarchy, or only to show assets themselves?
Have you looked into “nested variables” approach?https://docs.cognite.com/cdf/dashboards/guides/grafana/variables/#nested-chained-variables
Hi Yurii,We haven’t tested the datasource with the Geomap plugin so far.Would you able to provide some sample data, so we can give it another look? What kind of CDF resource are you using?I presume that events/timeseries might be not the best fit for this use-case.There is a chance that this might work with the new Data Models (https://docs.cognite.com/cdf/data_modeling/guides/intro_to_dm), but we need to verify that.
@Yurii Hasiuk yes, if the dashboard queries some specific subset of data that you would like to visualize.
@Yurii Hasiuk do you have any geospacial data to the this on?
@Yanzhu Yu hi!I think you should apply a few Grafana transformations to make that work.Extract field first and divide it by 1000: Subtract that value from the current time: Divide by 86400 to get the number of days, or 3600 to get hours: When you have time difference in hours/days, you should be able to use thresholds.NB: I only used the latest datapoint, but if you have multile, you’d need to reduce that with the latest one before doing other transformations.
Hi @Kristian Nymoen, this seem to be a bug unfortunately.Great that you found it.I created a ticket to follow-up on thishttps://github.com/cognitedata/cognite-grafana-datasource/issues/253
@akbm-victor thanks for the message. The CDF plugin is written mainly in React. There is only a small part of it still using deprecated Grafana APIs.We’ll check what we can do on our side to migrate users to the newest capability. We’ll inform you if any actions required on your side later on.
Hi @Paramale Arati ,DirectQuery is currently not supported for PowerBi CDF connector, only batched scheduled updates are possible.
@Zees As stated by Grafana, full deprecation of Angular will happen in 2024. We will update the CDF plugin before that, so users will be able to keep using it. There are no more details we can give right now.
Hi @Kjersti ,As you said, monitoring is not available through the CDF Grafana plugin,However there might be workarounds through SQL connection.Another possible way of doing this, is to use the built-in monitoring feature in the charts component in Fusion. (this however won’t display in Grafana)Out of curiosity, what do you use to establish SQL connection to CDF?
Hi @andrelcalves ,I haven’t explored these options (Push dataset, Streaming dataset, or PubNub) myself, but from our experience such features usually require some sort of SQL-connection to be avaliable (similar to DirectQuery). We did some development to enable CDF SQL-gateway before (codename Bumblebee), but it never matured past Alpha stage due to its complexity and non-standard authentication solution. While it is possible in theory, it requires substantial piece of engineering work to support such features in PowerBi, and it most likely also means building an entirely new connector.
@patricknitschke AIR is deprecated, I’d suggest to test out Monitoring in Charts first before going with custom solutions.tagging@Arun Arunachalam
@Zees@akbm-victorthe latest version of the plugin (v4.0.1) is fully compatible with Grafana v10 now. The warning will dissapear once you update :)
