Hi @Palaksha!Thank you for the question. When you select the common filter “Created time”, that is a system generated date. In the screenshot you shared, this is the filter you have applied (below). It seems you have created two custom Metadata fields, “Creation Date” and “Modify Date”. These meta data fields you can find for filtering further down on the left hand filtering panel, under “Metadata”. However, these fields are strings, so before/after is not supported. I noted that the system (CDF) generated Created time value and the custom “Creation Date” for your project differ quite a bit. Do you set the Creation Date after some processing? Thank you!We will keep gathering interest on this topic. Best, Sofie Berge, Product Manager
Hi @Dillon Perera !Thank you for sharing feedback on Data Explorer, and giving a clear example to help understand the need!We are taking note of the request and will monitor interest/upvotes for future evaluation. Best,Sofie Berge
Hi there! Search and data explorer supports filtering on all attributes on the data type you are looking at. Say, you are looking at a “workorder”, then you can as a user filter on any attribute associated with this work order. Do you have this information stored on the workorder itself? Best, Sofie Berge, Product Manager
Hi there, @Palaksha !Thanks for raising this question with us. We do not support recent search history in the Data Explorer. Would be great if you raise a feature request for this, and we can gather interest in the community. Best, Sofie Berge, Product Manager
Great to hear!//Sofie
Hi there @Torben !I would like to understand this request better; the data set selected should already be taken into account if you select additional filters. We did an adjustment to our AND/OR logic between filters earlier this week, but that should not have affected the logic between the Data set filter and other filters as you are referring to. Let me know if you still experience this issue, and we can have a follow up! Best, Sofie, Product Manager Data Explorer
Hi again @Udantha Wijeweera ! Happy to share that we yesterday released the updated AND/OR logic as per your suggestion. See this post for details: Best, Sofie
Hi again @Willem Meijer ! Happy to share that we yesterday released the updated AND/OR logic as per your suggestion. See this post for details: Best, Sofie
Hi @rsiddha and @crgomez13, Functionality to let end users define filters and save them for quick access is estimated in H2 this year. Best,Sofie
Hi @rsiddha!Yes, our plan is to release this functionality for project wide configuration as part of Q2 release, early June. It will cover the functionality to set a default configuration for all users, while users defining their own config will come later this year. Best, Sofie
Hi @Palaksha!This feature request is in the gathering interest mode. It has not made it to our roadmap and there is thus no timeline for this functionality to be in the UI. Best, Sofie Berge, Product Manager Data Explorer
Hi @Palaksha!I understand the request for “contains” functionality in the filters, but we do not have planned work to enable that sort of functionality. Best, Sofie Berge, Product Manager Data Explorer
Hi @Marcela Young!Apologies for the late response to this feedback. In Industrial Data Search, we want to improve this experience. We are investigating how to best support file classification in the user interface, and this is great feedback on the needs from the user. Including more than just the ingested title/name of the P&ID does indeed seem to be important for the user to identify which P&ID is the correct one. I’ll get back to you when we have more to share or a defined timeline for having a better experience available for the user. Best, Sofie Berge, Product Manager
Hi there!Providing an update on this request, as we have addressed or are in the process of addressing the points raised. We are significantly simplifying the exploration experience with Industrial Data Search that focus on the Industrial/SME user and their needs. What you can expect in Industrial Data Search; Filters are not focused on the more “Data Engineer” user group, but rather the SME. We are not exposing all potential filters (Data Sets, IDs etc), and will also in the next couple of releases support customization within in each project to define what filters to show. Event types over the next releases we will give the option of pre-filtering data for all users of a project, as part of supporting more customization. One such example, can be to define some filtering rules for the type of Evens you deem valuable for the Industrial/SME users to see, and have those filters auto-applied. Location/Site/Facility is possible to configure, and acts as an efficient filter on the data a us
Hi!Providing an update here. The functionality is still under development. Best, Sofie Berge, Product Manager
Thank you for clarifying! You want to edit which columns are visible in Data Explorer for Files. This topic is not related to the new industrial Search (this group), but I can answer here. Each user can customize which columns they want to see. In the top right corner there is a configuration button. Clicking on this opens a list of all metadata of Files where the user can select which to see and not. The user can uncheck “Content” in order to not see Content as a column. With “Content” selected for viewing With “Content” not selected for viewing Hope this helped!Best,Sofie Berge, Product Manager
Hi @Palaksha !Thank you for reaching out to us. I’m not sure I understand your request, would you be able to add more details and a screenshot? Best, Sofie Berge, Product Manager
Hi!Thank you for posting a feature request on behalf of CNTXT.We fully agree with you. By simplifying the interface having all “metadata” keys in one drop down, we ended up treating all selections within that drop down with the “OR” logic. The logic you propose, to keep “OR” for multiple values for the same keys, while having “AND” logic between key-value pairs makes absolute sense, and I have transitioned this to our developer team for implementation. I’ll ping you when we have altered the logic. Meanwhile, you will experience that in the new Search experience, the “AND”/”OR” logic works as you expect. Here you will find all filters in the right hand side filter menu, and we have ensured there is “AND” logic between key-value pairs, while you can still select multiple values for the same keys with “OR” logic applied. To access and test out the new Search, navigate to the Fusion home page (fusion.cognite.com), then notice the banner above the big search bar - choose “Try it now” for t
Hi @Willem Meijer !Thank you for reporting this request with great detail, making it quick to grasp what you wish for. I fully agree with you. Hi @etatetoohey !Thank you for giving this feedback! I’m excited to share that this is cooking right now. For the new Search (you might have seen the group here on Hub) we will give project Admins the option to programatically configure project wide defaults. These defaults will include, as you request, the option to select which metadata columns to show by default, and the ordering of them. I’ll update you once this is available. Best, Sofie, Product Manager
Hi @Mithila Jayalath External and @gghaleb !Thank you for reaching out. The default metadata ordering in CDF Data Explorer is based on how the data is structured in the backend, where there is no guarantee of the order. So in the frontend, the order does not necessarily correspond to the order defined in your transformation. For new Search (you might have seen the banner to test this experience on the landing page of fusion.cognite.com), we will shortly introduce the ability to define default ordering of metadata for the project. This would mean that you as an Admin/priviliged user can programatically define the order you want metadata to be presented, and this becomes the default for all users in the project. I will make sure to provide you update when this functionality is in place. Best, Sofie Berge, Lead Product Manager
Hi again, @Kristian Nymoen ! We have not received more interest around this topic for the last 3 months, so I will move this to won’t do. However, the request is still logged in our system, and I will be able to link up future interest in the topic to your initial request. Best, Sofie
Hi, @etatetoohey !Sorting: YES - sorting is coming soon, it is planned for the upcoming development cycle! Ability to add columns to the list view: YES - also in the works! Our first step will be to allow for a common configuration for all users, where you centrally have defined which columns to show as default. Thank you for providing feedback - highly appreciated 😄 My team and I would also be very interested to have a follow up with you to learn more about how you use the new Search, what you miss, what can be improved and so on - let me know if you have the time!Best, Sofie, Product Manager
Hi @gghaleb !Thank you for reporting this and coming with this feature request. We are at the moment unfortunately not able to provide you with “contains” functionality when searching metadata. We allow “starts with”, and will make this clearer in the user interface. I will keep this Product Idea in gathering interest status. Thank you, Sofie Berge, Product Manager Data Explorer
