The Cognite Data Fusion Toolkit enables programmatic configuration of Cognite Data Fusion capabilities and enables you to roll out changes in a repeatable and reliable way. The accompanying Templates make it easier to follow best practices and deliver faster.GA signifies that the Toolkit and Templates has gone through extensive testing and validation, and is now production-ready. Moving forward, more resource types and improved configuration lifecycle management will be added to the Toolkit. Don’t hesitate to take it for a test run!
This guide will show you how to use the Toolkit with GitHub Actions to manage Cognite Data Fusion configuration through CI/CD and configuration-as-code.The purpose of this setup is to introduce traceability and quality assurance to the project lifecycle, and to reliably and safely make changes to the Cognite Data Fusion project. The guide will show you how to set up a GitHub repository with a GitHub Action workflow that will automatically build and deploy the project when changes are made to the main branch. The guide will also show you how to set up GitHub secrets to store sensitive information such as client secrets. flowchart: CI/CD 1. Prepare a GitHub repository for your project Create and clone a GitHub repository. Make it private. If you already have gone through the steps of setting up the Toolkit and configuring templates, you can initialise and sync your existing local working folder to GitHub like this instead of cloning:cd [my_local_repo_folder]git init .git remote add origi
Cognite Functions are now supported! Examples and the ability to test functions locally included! Based on your feedback, we have restructured and reduced the number of config files to deal with (NB: breaking change, some of you may have to migrate. Essentially, you'll only need a config.[env].yaml pr environment you manage with the Toolkit Speaking about upgrades, the cdf-tk init --upgrade will now guide you on how to update necessary files Get it now! pip install --upgrade cognite-toolkit
Cognite Data Fusion Toolkit with Project Templates takes care of tasks that up until now have been time-consuming, and solved in multitudes of different ways, so you can focus on the important and use-case-specific problems faster. But what is it?It is a Python-based Command Line Interface (CLI), bundled with configuration templates, that can orchestrate and configure Cognite Data Fusion services according to common patterns. In Templates, we bundle these together. With the Toolkit, you deploy these resources automatically to your Cognite Data Fusion project (after you have applied project-specific settings). You’ll find a getting started-guide here https://developer.cognite.com/sdks/toolkit/ or you can watch the video below to get a demonstration. But why does it matter? The toolkit and the templates are likely to reduce delive
