There is currently no intuitive way to navigate through the asset hierarchy in InField. Please include this capability or, if it already exists, make it more intuitive.
The asset hierarchy view in CDF needs a couple features to prevent excessive unnecessary scrolling:When I search for an asset then click ‘hierarchy’, the hierarchy should jump to where the actual asset is. Right now, it always starts at the top and I need to scroll down to find it. The hierarchy should stay focused on what was viewed last until a new asset is clicked, as typical use involves studying multiple assets in a particular system, and needing to scroll back down to the appropriate place every time is annoying.
We frequently need the capability to produce lists without results from fuzzy logic cluttering the results. For example, the other day I was looking for an asset number that I did not know, in this case a sump within the CL-VAM hierarchy. Within SAP, I have the capability to search ‘*sump*’ in the equipment description, and look at all children FLOCs of a unit by searching under “CL-VAM*”. Would we be able to mirror that capability within CDF.
In CDF the hierarchy on the left hand side and the title blocks at the top of the asset screen are currently the FLOC string. The description would be a better choice since the FLOC string is meaningless strings of letters.
There is the arrow on the left hand side of the screen for CDF to go backwards. Please add a corresponding arrow to return to the screen from which you just went back. Makes navigating back and forth between data very easy.
