Hi @Xiaofeng Wang ,Sorry this feature is still work in progress at the moment, we will announce the release for support for TimeSeries the moment it is available. For now, as a work around, can you store the externalId as String field types for now?Sorry for the inconvenience,David
Hi @Xiaofeng Wang, thank you for reaching out about this error. I was wondering what node version are you running (`node --version`)? We recommend using at least Node version `16` for the CLI. We will clarify this in the documentation and provide an error check to help make these error more clear. Thanks!David
We are working on making the filter builder to be more robust to capture this ability to build “list” of `and` and `or` filters :) Hope the workaround in code will work in the mean time!
Thanks for this request, we will definitely look into the “auto-magical” population journey with recommendations and etc. after the beta release. We will share more information in this Group after the beta release this summer.
We have added this to our backlog and we eventually definitely want to support federation of graphql data models. Our first focus at the moment is to get the population, consumption, modeling capability, and getting the new service to at least Beta. For sure after then, we will explore these features, (our team has experience with Apollo federation, so hopefully it will be a small addition).
Update: The fix has been deployed no more workaround is needed :)
Update: We have cornered in on a fix that should be rolled out in the coming days, will update the thread once released, thank you for being patient with us!
Hi Tom,Thank you for the bug report, we are trying to resolve this bug right now, in the meantime, can you try to cast locally in your code via the workaround? We will update this thread as this gets resolved. Thanks,David
cc @BugGambit Hi Roberto,Our approach towards flexible data modeling is that you should use UI to learn concepts, and use code to “productionalize”. Hence you should absolutely be able to declare “mapping” between data models (i.e. from Domain ↔ Source) through code and update via CLI. We imagine everything should be versioned and “published” with intent, the data model, and the “mapping” to data directly or via other data models. We are looking into this concept and planning to prototype a figma workflow (UI driven, with everything having an equivalent flow via code through CLI) sometimes in the coming weeks. We would love to come up with a workflow together with you. David
Hi Fredrik,This is a great catch! We will improve our error handling by providing a clearer error message and by removing this “default” for project name. Please let us know if there’s anything else 🐞-yDavid
Hi Ben!This is great feedback for us! We have not planned to add any ability to mutate data via the GraphQL interface and was looking for requests regarding this feature. We have SDKs that makes it easy to ingest and mutate data in Templates and we are just finishing up the final documentation this week, and I will post it in this thread and also in the Flexible Data Modeling Cognite Hub group. As for the last link, that is towards a prototype called ITG which provided us learnings around mutations that we hope to capture (along with feedback like this around Templates) as we are building more data modeling feature this year. I will share an early preview of the “documentation for modifying data via SDK” with you now, and share it publicly here once it is live later this week.
Hi Robert, I will schedule up a follow up next week with you, Ola and Morten to gather your thoughts and share some of our thinking as well. The interface for the visualization is something we will want to iterate with you on in building this feature.A quick question on HighCharts, do you mean visualization with something like this: https://www.highcharts.com/docs/chart-and-series-types/network-graph? David
Hi Robert, I would love go hear your experience and see what the graph exploration API is all about. I was curious, would that also mean that y’all are building also a graph exploration UI prototype as well at Statnett?Additionally, on the graph based exploration for Statnett as the primary way to explore data, this makes a ton of sense based on how data is modelled currently, and we definitely want to help Statnett have a smooth experience building such a UI for the end users. It’s also great you have mentioned the goal being in 2022!As for the filtering, we are hoping that the visualization component should be as de-coupled from the business logic as possible. Hence it should be the builders of the frontend app to decide to whether include that logic of filtering in the server (or middleware) or the application logic. Then, whatever the result of after the filtering has been completed, the visualization component should be able to handle and display the result. This is also where we
Hi Robert,These are all great use cases where a 2D graph viewer would be much more efficient and effective than the current tabular view. We have added all of the details you have provided into our backlog. This is something many other users of CDF has asked about, so we definitely are aware of the importance of this feature. We have started a new team focusing on Development Experience so we really want to prioritise when we look at our longer term goals. I will definitely keep you in the loop regarding this feature and provide more details in January 2022.Thank you so much for all the details and use cases, this is incredibly useful and will help us push for prioritizing such a feature!David
Hi Robert,This is a fantastic question and something we always had in our backlog. As you have mentioned, we did some experimentation in the past but are now re-exploring this feature again, but we are hoping to understand the various use cases better first. I was wondering if you had some sample use cases where exploring via a graph would be more intuitive than the existing way in Data Explorer in Fusion (where users go from Asset → other resources and so forth via a tabular UI)?Thanks,David
